What an amazing place for your kid to grow in the theater world. We came to Area Stage not knowing what to expect. We were blown away with the level of professionalism and talent of everyone we have met involved with the different productions my daughter has been in or we've come to see as a family. The Rodaz family is amazing. Maria, John and Giancarlo are all incredibly talented. My daughter's experience was mostly with director Giancarlo Rodaz. Giancarlo is a genius and we're very grateful to have been given the opportunity for my daughter to work with him. The way he executes his vision on stage is just a work of art in itself. They also have the best teachers there. Our experience was mostly with the incredibly talented Ms. Irma Becker in dance. She's truly an amazing dancer and choreographer. Also the stage manager, sound guys and backstage crew are so knowledgeable and great at what they do. We loved everyone there but I have to say one of my favorite things has been meeting incredible parents of theater children who have become close friends. That was an unexpected but very sweet surprise. In a world where sometimes competitiveness can get in the way of forming true friendships, the ASC moms and dads that we've met are some of the most humble, sweet and caring people we have ever met. Give this company a try. You will love what they can do to further your...
Read moreI saw their production of the wizard of oz. The set design was fantastic for a "local" theater performance. When you walk into the theater it is a very simple set but the set easily grows to 4 times the size it first seems in a very technically interesting and dramatic transition. All of the actors were fantastic and it's the first local productions I have seen with the orchestra in full view during the show. The attention to detail put into this prodictuon was fantastic including a moment with a fake selfie camera flash that nobody would ever notice. Plenty of modern references veiled in the wizard of oz moniker. Fantastic for local theater and nearly worthy off off Broadway in set design musical creativity and modernization. Will be back at this venue for...
Read moreI had never been to this theatre which is strange for me because I've been to almost every theatre in Miami.
The venue is great because it's very small, so there really isn't a bad seat in the house. The seats are comfortable, and they have a concession stand where you can buy wine, soda, and a variety of other things.
This theater is inside of a shopping center which is a bit strange, but the good thing is that parking is free. It's a conservatory as well so you have a lot of shows that are performed by very talented young people. However, the show that I went to see was with to Broadway Giants that saying Broadways best love songs. It was really wonderful.
If you haven't done so already, I definitely recommend giving this...
