I generally liked my experience at this place. The restaurant is modern, nicely designed, and very clean. The menu isn’t big, but offers a variety of options. I decided to try the Chicken Kabob Plate, which includes chicken (all white meat), white rice, Greek salad, a slice of pita bread, a scoop of hummus, and some sauces on the side. I was able to modify the Greek salad by removing some vegetables, which was a plus for me, and I liked the result. The salad was very nice, and all the vegetables and feta cheese were fresh. However, the slice of pita bread was too small and a bit dry. The rice was also a little dry; I expected it to be softer and more flavorful, especially with the restaurant’s name focusing on rice. But the chicken kabob was super tasty and delicious! I also liked the sauces; they gave the chicken a nice flavor. I paid $15.99 for this meal, and I think this price is fair because the plate was large and filled with food. I couldn’t finish all the rice even though it was my first meal of the day and I was very hungry. So, keep in mind the size of the Chicken Kabob Plate and don’t order extra food to avoid wasting it. A small bottle of sparkling mineral water cost $2.99. Unfortunately, the beverage options at the restaurant were very limited, and they should add more soft drinks to the menu. The guy who took my order was very nice, sweet, and helpful with advice about the food. The service was fast; I got my food about 8 minutes after ordering, but I must point out that the restaurant was pretty empty when I arrived. The restaurant’s location is great, just across the street from the South Miami Metro Station and a few blocks from Sunset Place Shopping Mall. My first experience at this restaurant was smooth and mostly pleasant, so I’m sure I will come back soon to try something different...
Read moreI use to come to Rice years ago with friends that were from Kuwait before they had revamped their whole place and menu in which I was a big fan since it was cuisine hard to find in the area at great prices. Convinced my boyfriend to give the place a try with me and felt we had a pretty mediocre experience. We both got grain bowls which are $13.95 each here. If you follow my reviews then you know that I choose spots that are considered cheap eats or very affordable so I thought that price was a little hefty compared to other similar bowl places in the area.
I ordered my bowl with basmati rice, spicy roasted chicken, braised beef, sriracha tomato hummus, greek yogurt sumac, spicy baba ganoush, tomato, onion, red cabbage, and spicy sumac sauce on top. The spicy roasted chicken was definitely my preferred protein and the sriracha tomato hummus my other recommendation. The braised beef was pretty dry and felt like it had been sitting in heat for way too long. My boyfriend ordered a bowl that was half rice, half lentils, slow cooked turkey, roasted vegetables, hummus, honey nut feta, charred carrot tahini, an assortment of more fresh vegetables including tasty black olives and dressed it with their pomegranate dressing. His bowl was way better than mine, my favorites of his being: the honey nut feta, roasted vegetables and pomegranate dressings.
All the vegetables were really fresh which is notable for those looking for a healthy low carb meal but at this price point I expect all the ingredients to be quality in which some failed where others...
Read moreMy friend and I have been coming to this magnificent place for the last year. Rice has become part of our routine at this point once we leave school. Thanks to out dual enrollment program in school and leaving early because of it, we were able to come across this wonderful establishment. When we walk in we are instantly recognized by the familiar faces we know and love, with a wide smile and a vivid, energetic sentiment transmitted while serving our food. If that wasn't good enough, the taste of the food is incredibly unique and exquisite. The meals are prepared carefully with natural, healthy ingredients for an incredible eating experience. The ambient is tranquil yet just to the theme of a mediterranean place. Fitting music, pastry, protein, greens and many other attributes in accordance to this eastern theme. From a personal perspective, my favorite part about this restaurant is the treatment by the staff. Some restaurants are often mean or harsh on teens or students due to their arrogant thinking or perhaps their predictive conclusion that our stay will be wasted or unproductive. Here thats not the case. The staff is always happy to see us, and as stated before their illuminating smile is a remaining quality that adds value to your unique experience as soon as you step foot in this restaurant. There isn't a place i would prefer other than this establishment in...
