Our FAVORITE game store in the valley. My friend and I go in quite often and they are always nice. Prices are great (way better than Game Night Games), and they have a large selection. We usually see Ian there and he's always friendly and knowledgeable, and always willing to share his thoughts on games if we ask. Very helpful. On 4th of July, a bunch of us went in and were asking about various games and even though it wasn’t a normal gaming day for them, since they had the time, the guy working there (I think his name might have been Chris?) played Mysterium with us. Great customer service all around. Today, when we went in, we met one of the owners, Travis and he was very friendly and shared so much info with us. Both Ian and Travis were very honest with their reviews and let us know if they didn't like something and why they didn't like it - and catered their suggestions based on what we said we like and were looking for. They did not push anything and were happy to move onto the next suggestion if we didn't like the previous one as they know that not everyone's tastes are the same. In addition, being two females without any males, they never once, not today or any day, made us feel uncomfortable or spoke to us like we didn't know what we were doing. Granted, we haven't had that experience so far at any store, we've read stories online about others having experiences as females that were less than ideal in other places and meet-ups so just throwing it out there because we think these guys are awesome! We love supporting local businesses and Demolition Games is one of those places where you just want to spend all your money...
Read moreI began coming here 5 weeks ago, until today my experience has been good. Every Sunday I play a game, buy a pack or two and buy a couple of drinks. Today, I needed a new deck box. I picked up a deck box and asked if they had others. At this time I was directed to a solid single deck box and a dual deck box that was about 35.00. I specifically asked if these boxes would fit a commander deck and I was told they would. I purchased it and immediately after opening I identified the size discrepancy.
I told the individual that was helping me and he said he’d get me a refund. He even pulled out some other boxes for comparison because he was bewildered.
This whole transaction and review took about 3 minutes from selection to purchase to identifying the issue.
When I went to firm up the refund I was told it has to be in store credit. How dumb is that? I felt a bit bamboozled.
Now I definitely could have spent a bit more time reading the box - I shouldn’t have relied on the employees judgement entirely, but that being said, I did ask for his help and even he didn’t realize the issue until after I made a purchase
Long story short, an iaaue identified immediately should not get store credit, it should be a cash refund or card refund. The employee should’ve taken ownership for directing me to a product not suitable for my request. I will take my business elsewhere for purchase and likely continue to play here because aside from this issue, it’s a good store with good people.
Frustrated by the experience. I even offered to purchase the full size equivalent and he indicated He didn’t have any, which leads me to feel a...
Read moreDemolition Games has been an amazing ride. If board games are your jam, it scratches that same itch any bookworm gets entering a Barne’s and Noble.
It’s got pretty much everything you could ask for in a FLGS. Fantastic selection, the hottest newest releases including Kickstarters, minis/paint supplies, guides, a loyalty store credit program, helpful staff, and while I haven’t been to any myself, gaming events. I’ve long repped them and been happy to see their growth over the last handful of years.
Historically, I would have rated them a perfect 5/5 however I have to knock one star off as after my last two visits I have been disappointed to see the prices increase significantly. One of my biggest selling points was that you could confidently shop here knowing that you were getting the cheapest prices around, including the internet, or damn close. Unfortunately they are now closer to big box stores like the aforementioned Barne’s. I have spent a small fortune here and while I pump the brakes on that, the prices are still on par with your average FLGS.
Give Demolition Games a shot! Chances are they’ll have what you’re looking for or surprise you with a...
