for me, this is the cornerstone of Dorney Park fun. It's absolutely terrifying. The boat feels rickety, the water from the last ride sifts through the bottom as you pull out of the dock, making it feel like they just rescued it from the river. When you get to the top, it's so silent as you float around the U turn waiting for your destiny. No chains, no electrical motors whirring, just the "dink dink dink" as the boat slowly makes its turn through the house looking structure at the top. As you get to the crest of the drop, you look up at the ride operator sitting at the drop and it feels as if he is living there and is saying "what are you doing here? Get out of here". He doesn't actually say that, but it really feels like someone's rickety old house that you've intruded into... and then the drop! You can easily just jump out of your seat if you want. Don't do that lol.... You hit the water and get soaked and then you are actually kind of surprised that you're still alive at the end. Then after you get off the ride, the walk way goes over the ride and you can stop and get splashed by the next boat. Make sure you run once you get off the ride so you can get the very next one! Maybe my favorite ride of my whole childhood. A terrifyingly exhilarating experience. Always the first ride to get us going at Dorney Park in the mid 90s. Hopefully it's all the same as...
Read moreToday I went on this ride. It says the minimum height to ride it is 4 feet, I am 4 foot 5 inches so it shouldn’t be a problem. But the grip they give you is soaked and you can’t hold on tightly. The lap bar is 6 inches above me and 1 foot away from my stomach. When I reached the drop I had to physically go under the lap bar to avoid falling to my death. I was sitting in the front row so that might have made a little difference but the outcome wouldn’t be much different. I think the minimum height should be 5...
Read moreFun ride, but bring a bathing suit and towel!! I rode this wearing shorts, got soaked, went to the drying machine, and put my $20 bill in, because it said "$5 for 3 minutes". I didn't get any change for my 20, so it ended up running for 12 minutes! So, yeah, don't do what I did, wearing shorts on the ride. Other than that, the ride...
