ZZZ Pawn Shop — Attraction in Spanish Fork

First of all, I’d like to preface this review by stating that I actually worked in a pawn shop from 2014 to 2017, so I’m acutely aware of the line which separates the good pawn shops from the bad ones.

Based on the sorely disappointing and deeply frustrating experience I had here today, I feel supremely confident in saying that this ZZZ Pawn Shop is one of the bad ones, no doubt.

Earlier today, I called ZZZ Pawn and spoke with a young lady about a case of ammunition which I was hoping to sell to them. It was a brand new case of 1000 premium 5.56 rounds which retailed from anywhere between $335 and $350. I told this young lady EXACTLY what I wanted to sell, and I told her that I was hoping to get $250 for the case, which I know for a fact was an entirely reasonable asking price, because — like I said — I worked in a pawn shop for 3 years, and I know exactly how much profit they’d stand to make from this deal. The young woman set the phone down, and I could clearly hear her discussing my proposed deal with her boss in the background for about a minute before she picked the phone back up and said “yep, we can do $250”.

I then hopped in my car with the 1000 round case of ammo, drove 20 minutes to ZZZ Pawn, set the case down on their countertop, and was acknowledged by by the same girl I had spoken with on the phone as patiently waited for her boss to come finalize the deal with me.

After a few minutes, the man in charge approached me and inspected the case of ammo to ensure that it was exactly what I said it was on the phone. Sure enough, I’d held up my end of the bargain. He then asked for my ID, took all my information down, had me sign some paperwork, and took my fingerprints before handing me $200.

I immediately proceeded to remind him that we had agreed on $250, not $200. On top of that, the girl I spoke with on the phone overheard the conversation and stepped in to back me up. His own employee took my side in the argument as she confirmed that he wasn’t holding up his end of the bargain.

Even so, the “man” in charge adamantly refused to honor the agreement I made with his employee on the phone with his approval just 20 minutes prior.

After about a minute of me insisting that he honor our initial agreement and of him lying through his greasy teeth as he tried to weasel his way out of said agreement, I used the word “unreasonable” and he reacted to it in the same way a spoiled child reacts to the word “no” as he furiously demanded that I take my business elsewhere. As I walked out the door with my case of ammunition in hand, he taunted me the way a high-school bully would taunt his victim.

All in all, the man who runs this store is nothing more than a greasy, dishonest con-man who will undoubtedly make every effort to take advantage of you, and who will revert to acting like a nightmarish man-child if you call him out on his greasy, dishonest con-man shenanigans. Moreover, I’d confidently bet my own house that every single positive review ZZZ Pawn has on this site or any other site was written by the shop owner or by one of his friends at his behest.

I’d also confidently bet that the owner won’t hesitate lie in his reply to this review in an effort to “discredit” me in the minds of would-be customers.

If I could give this place 0/5 stars, I would.

Very rude staff. Sell things for same price as new online items. If your looking for a good deal just keep on driving unless you want used items at new retail price. Update. Still very rude and over priced. They obviously make all there money on loans and low balling needy people because buying things from them is an over priced joke. I stopped back in to see if things have changed. Nope

Update 3 Hahaha. Your petty. Why not just have more fair prices. Instead of spending time researching my personal back ground and lying on reviews for Sams club? Seems as a business owner you would want to portray honesty I would think. Making up a story that never happened. I left there 8 months ago you left a false review (lie) 2 months ago. Whose the troll? I come in your business often and look for deals and gave you an honest review. Oh and your reply of me bashing on small businesses? Read my reviews I go out of my way to write good reviews I think yours may be the only bad one. If my screen shot does not work here is your false (LIE) review of me at my (old) job. Nice try to get me in trouble so funny. Had me rolling. Costco is a good outfit and closer you should take some business pointers from them and apply them to your establishment.

My husband went in to sell some things and maybe do a trade. He went to the counter and told the girl what he wanted to do, she was very rude about it and told some guy to come cool at his crap. The came over and looked it he then said he was not interested in it he then looked at another item my husband brought in looked it up on ebay then tells my husband that they are selling the same item on ebay for $35.00 my husband looks at the listing on the computer and the item that the guy was selling was broken and not in working condition. Then my husband told them that he had a set of paddle tires for sale the man then looked them up on ebay and said that they are selling for $135.00 shipped my husband looks at the post on ebay and the tires are shredded and have big chunks taken out of the blades. Needless to say this shop is a joke and the way they get there pricing is ridiculous. They don't compare apples to apples, if you have a good used item they try and compare it to a broken one or something that can not even be used. If you want a fair price for your items put them on ksl or craigslist these people are thief's and liars. I will never go there again.... Also the post under derick shumway is fake he has only reviewed pawn shops how low are these people. Actually look at all the peoples profiles that have given a good review they give good reviews all over the country they are fake reviews... This is my opinion.

To the owner that is completely false my husband never put the tires on ksl and the spray gun was not brand new it was broken. Get your facts strait. This company is full of liars and cheats that create...
