DON'T DO IT! ABSOLUTELY DO NOT REGISTER AND START BIDDING!!! I'm just trying to help. Bcuz I promise u, once you start bidding, u will NOT stop!!! I live over in Wallace, almost an hour & a half away. I had no idea this place existed. Until... UNTIL a friend of mine told me bout it about 6 weeks ago. In the last 6 weeks I have bought 150 items. For real. I've been self employed buying & selling items locally and online for almost 12 years now. Sometimes I sell clothes for months, sometimes houseplants, sometimes makeup, etc (& so much more) depending on what I can buy for cheap & sell for more. BUYWANDER has become a game changer!! I'd say out of the 150 items I've bought, maybe 8-10 items have been missing an important part or it's totally broken. As far as I'm concerned, that's not too bad!!! There are sooooo many nice, high end products on here that I'd love to buy for myself but for the most part, I stick with items I can buy for cheap & AT LEAST triple my money. What I buy just depends on the day. Sometimes people are bidding crazy high for items that I just bought for a few dollars the day before. And vice versa. I have gotten some extremely nice chandeliers and light fixtures and fitted car mats for $1-5. I bought one chandelier for $16 & sold it for $300 cash!!!
Since I'm almost an hour & a half away I have sent numerous emails to their customer service department & let me tell ya, I've never before dealt with a better bunch of people!!! They were so helpful as I worked out the kinks on picking my items up. At first my friend was picking up my items (along with hers) & it became quite the mess. Items were left behind, some I didn't receive... Never once was I treated rudely & every item I ordered was found & waiting for me. I never waited more than a few hours for an email back & they went above & beyond to accommodate me since I was traveling over an hour for pickup. The customer service is as good as it gets!!!
I have never returned any of my broken or missing part items so I can't give an opinion on their return policy or department. But I can factually tell you that the young gentleman who helped me when I got there to pick up nearly 100 items, now he was FABULOUS!!! I asked him his name & even called him by name more than once but now I am not certain I remember it... I'm hoping it was Mason... long hair, extremely friendly... he had great people skills and was being pulled in multiple directions & he never once acted like he was bothered or frustrated. He was happy and helpful & laid back, but busy, busy, busy nonstop.
I can guarantee that bots do not bid last second to prevent a customer from getting an item at a cheap price. I know this bcuz I bid last second all the time. U can literally click on any item and go see exactly who bid what, and at what time. There is no bot. 🙄
I already wrote a novel. So I'll wrap this up quickly. BuyWander is fricken AWESOME!!! Quality items at cheap prices. If u get something that isn't quality, u got 7 days to return it and they'll give u your money back. U can't go wrong. Customer service is fast and attentive and all the on floor workers, like Mason (?🙏) are top notch. Fast & efficient. The only negative is that u can possibly become addicted. But they have help for that kinda stuff. So just DO IT!!! U will...
Read moreInstead of complaining about it, I just want to be factual and as fair as possible because fairness is just like beauty, lying in the eyes of the beholders. I gave them two stars: one for the decent communication via email, and the second for the manager on site today who has only been there for two weeks but did a great job listening and not overly defending (as we all know, the last thing an unhappy customer want to hear is your excuses, we need solutions). They lost three stars and maybe more from me for the following reasons: Unreasonable and distressful return policy, which was already elaborated by several others in the previous reviews. Two points sucks: the 7 days starts from auction ending day instead of pickup day, and the 7 days include weekends. You can decide whether it is fair or not. Description of items: I just want to use one example of a pickleball paddle they listed as gently used. Any pickleballer will laugh at the "gentle use" for a well beat-up paddle. I always believe in under promise and over delivery. When in doubt, downgrade your description to surprise others so they can always be pleasantly surprised, rather than feeling cheated and disappointed. Operations: I try to be more understanding and tolerant as they are relatively a newer company and local as well. However, I am still in awe how less efforts they put on the professional presentation, customer service, and operations. The whole front part of the store is like a remodeling or restocking war zone. You don't know who works there, no name badge or uniform, most staff are not happy or making efforts to look at you. Lines are very misleading, and picking up area is crowed. The store credit process was also a laughingstock. I had no intention to come back after my experience with them, but they could not just give me a card for it, I had to call my friend to transfer the credit to him. AND, the staff GAVE me his points information after I asked, that's not cool. You should keep that information confidential.
I want to support our local business, but you have to give me a good reason...
Read moreI've been a customer of Buy Wander since the beginning and couldn't have been more happy but lately every time I go it gets worse. BE CAREFUL or you will get screwed over. After many frustrating experiences, my last purchase made me feel like I needed to let others know. I purchased a stroller that was clearly advertised to be one particular brand between the pictures and listing title. When I picked it up, the box indicated a different brand. I mentioned this before I left with the product and was reassured that it was the correct item and that they reuse packaging. When I got home, as I expected, it was a completely different item in the box. I took it back a few days later and was told I couldn't return it bc it had been more than 7 days (I picked it up on a Monday, attempted to return it on Thursday). I also had attempted to pick this item up the Friday before but they wouldn't let me b/c I had another order to be picked up that day and they will only let you pick up one a day apparently. Sleezey way to eat at your time for a return. They said the best they could offer me was a "credit" that was less than 50% of what I paid for it.
The staff are friendly on the surface but have no interest in finding solutions or working with customers. They are robotic and repeat the same things over and over.
Also, expect long wait times, even if you have a pick up appointment. I recently waited 45 minutes to get my items even though I had an appointment.
They are clearly more interested in growing their business than improving customer experiences.
I also find it odd that the last few times I have been there there have been people with literal truckloads and trailer loads of items. This is clearing bogging the system down for normal people who are not...
