This was my first visit to Spokane and it really helped me get oriented to the downtown area and how it fits into the rest of the region.
The view is not obscured by pine trees as other reviewers have said.
When I was up there on a Friday afternoon in July of 2024, I was the only person there. I was able to park right in front of the viewpoint, and walked less than 50 ft on a flat roadside area and sat on a bench overlooking the city by myself. It was very peaceful.
I also liked seeing the natural rock and trees of the hillside.
I was a bit concerned about whether there would be crime up there or not, but nobody gave me any trouble.
I highly recommend this as a place to view town from. I did not want to do the commercial way of seeing things, nor to try to take a ride on an elevator to the top of a skyscraper. And it was less than 10 minutes away from a coffee...
Read moreThe huge boulders placed up there has ruined this awesome spot. It used to be a cooler place back in the day. Used to be able to sit in your vehicle and stare out into the city listening to oldies but not anymore. Kinda ruins the whole experience. Its lame now but you can see the city. All in all its not that great anymore. Move the boulder closer to the edge and maybe pave that area. It really should be fixed up and made a cool focul point for the city. Maybe a drop down area in front of the cliff so you could walk down and sit on a bench. An area with railings for safety. If you feel this review was helpful please press the like...

But there are loads and loads of sketchy looking people drinking their beer in the weeds and bushes. What a terrible decision to do this. It needs renovation in the worst way. Probably $50,000 work of landscaping-- go nuts, and get the insurance and put in a rock climbing wall. Make it special. Right now, its a disgrace. And right in front of some of the nicest homes in Spokane. ...
