I went in looking for a couch and loveseat for tall and height weight capacity. I was directed to a double recliner couch and loveseat set. I was told over and over that it was best for tall/bigger people. The brand of furniture is Lane. I immediately had covers on them as they were leather. Within 6 months of normal wear and tear 1 recliner on the loveseat began having issues. I contacted the store and told them the issue. They directed me to the website to request a warranty repair. Their website was messed up and kept directing me to the extended warranty website. I called and spoke with Tyler more than once to try and get assistance. By the time 1 year had come, 3 recliners were having trouble, and the back of the loveseat on the side where the 1st recliner broke was leaning. I filed an extended warranty claim for all 3. The gentleman with the warranty company was great. He was friendly and got plenty of pictures. He let me know while he was here that he would get everything sent to his boss for review. Within a week, I had an email stating that they were unable to repair the loveseat and we're giving me in store credit. I went in and was offered the SAME horrible loveseat. Which I declined. I finally chose a loveseat and ottoman. I was informed that I have the 1 year manufacturers warranty on the loveseat and ottoman, but the 5 year extended warranty now only applies to the couch. I honestly wish I would have been offered my money back versus the in store credit. The in store credit only applied to furniture. You can not use it toward appliances. You would think that in store credit would allow you to use it for anything in there. In my opinion, if you want overpriced junk, then American Freight is the perfect place. Otherwise, stay away and get much...
Read moreI want to preface this review by saying that it’s not about the product itself, which is actually quite nice and comfortable. This is about the incredibly frustrating experience I had with the delivery process.
I initially expected my order to be delivered on Thursday, the 7th. When it didn’t arrive, I called the store and was told the delivery person didn’t have help. I then rescheduled for Friday the 8th. By 4 p.m. on Friday, there was still no delivery, so I called again—this time, they told me that the delivery person had quit on them. I was transferred to a manager, who informed me that the store was filing for bankruptcy and my only options were to either pick it up myself on Saturday or wait until Monday.
On Saturday, I received a call saying the item would be delivered that day. I got texts with updated times: first 2:15, then 2:30, 3:30, 4:50, and finally 5:36. It didn’t actually arrive until almost 7 p.m.
So, take any promises of next-day delivery with a grain of salt. Be prepared for a delivery window that could range from 6 hours to 3 days. While the delivery team itself was friendly and the item is nice, I feel like I paid an extra $150 only to be inconvenienced rather than have the convenience of a timely delivery. This has been, without a doubt, the most frustrating experience I’ve...
Read moreWe bought full living room sets for our upstairs and downstairs. The first couch from the set they brought was broken upon arrival and they had to send another one. Fine, things happen. But after about a month we started to notice major structural issues with the furniture. The couch cushions sank dramatically and the stuffing was sinking into the interior of the chair. After closer inspection, the zippers hadn’t been installed at all so the cushion edges were just purging stuffing. The C springs under the cushions were missing any staples or fasteners so they popped off and were just hanging down. There are more things than I have time to list. We did pay extra for the 5 year warranty and filed a claim. It took 4 months to finally get an insurance tech to come out and look at the furniture. He said it was definitely structurally built terrible and he wasn’t sure how it made it to be sold. He took pics and everything saying he didn’t feel there would be any reason we wouldn’t be able to get our claim and get replacements and repair. Two weeks later the company rejected the claim saying it was normal wear and tear.
If you’re going to waste your money here, do not buy couches. And don’t bother with the warranty. They will not honor it even if the issues are...
