Pinot's Palette — Attraction in St. Charles

My friend and I went today, and from the very start, we felt like our instructor was very condescending. An hour into the session, she told us how we took too long painting the background, and that we had to hurry it up for the rest of the painting, but we didn’t even know we were running behind because of how she was pacing us. There were definitely little jabs here and there while also trying to help us. I felt like her instruction was often rushed or belittling if we asked questions. And from the place in the room she was instructing. It was often hard for me to see what she was doing. I would not want to come back to this location, especially if we had the same instructor.

I had a Local Flavor certificate, due to Covid the certificate expired. The owner was nice enough to still honor it, which was appreciated very much. Unfortunately the instructor was not very good. Everyone's painting, including the instructors, did not look like the example painting. She did not know how to instruct us properly to recreate what we signed up to paint, and as people had questions she didn't know how to help them. She gave backhanded compliments in several paintings, which was pretty uncomfortable. If the owner hadn't been so accommodating, they'd have gotten 2 stars. I'd have been quite upset if we had paid full price for the class. The place was cute and clean. Maybe we just got a bad instructor...
