I frequent multiple tropical smoothie locations — this one is by far the worst. The last 2 times I have ordered via delivery I have not gotten my order. First time, okay it happens, no big deal. It must have gotten lost somewhere with the driver, not tropical smoothies fault. Today was the second time. I ordered for delivery at 8:30, driver texts me at 9:00 saying it will be there soon, I follow up twice with the driver to ask ETA and where my order is, they don’t respond. so I called tropical smoothie and they were pretty rude basically telling me there’s nothing they can do, asked why I was calling 1.5 hours later. I said because I was trying to get into contact with the driver and figure out what’s going on and that I’m working with patients…I’m not going to call about my smoothie while providing treatment to someone. The manager was really condescending and told me to call the delivery service. I couldn’t even find which delivery service they used anywhere on my app or receipt so I just called DoorDash hoping it was the right one, which thankfully it was. DoorDash was pretty helpful but they couldn’t issue my refund so they asked if I wanted to just get it remade/redelivered which I said yes that would be great. DoorDash called to ask if Tropical could remake and they would send a driver out but Tropical refused. DoorDash said I could try to get a refund, they transferred me back to tropical’s manager, which he again said it wasn’t his problem and that I need to call DoorDash. I told him I just spoke with them (and so did he because he was the one who refused to remake the order) and since Tropical was the one who received my payment, they would be the ones to refund. He said no, I’m wrong and that I need to call DoorDash again and was really rude/unhelpful/condescending. Read moreUpdate: My husband never heard from corporate office and it's been a week already. If this was a priority they would have contacted him right away. So, this place obviously doesn't care about the consumer but the money coming in. Very disappointed that my husband was lied to from the person that took the complaint and said we would get a call and a refund. So don't bother calling them. They're worthless.
Avoid this location. We usually go to the carol stream location because they are really good over there and know how to make peanut butter paradise smoothie. But, sometimes we will also go to this St. Charles location during the week and on the weekend. We went on Sunday April 14th to this location and was very disappointed on how the peanut butter paradise smoothie came out. We purchased 2 of them and they were very bland. I mean they tasted like they only had whey protein in them and not enough of any other ingredients. Unfortunately, we are not going to go back there when we have to be somewhere that is an hour away. Anyway, we contacted corporate on Monday and complained about the smoothies that were terrible. Corporate said the manager would contact us and we would get a full refund. It's now Wednesday and never heard from anyone (ie manger or corporate). We called the store manager at st. Charles and he didn't have a care in the world and was very rude and telling us that we should have brought it back to the store to get it redone. He said there was nothing he would do!. Over sugared drinks because they don't follow the given measurements, super rude when you ask for literally anything, and nobody can answer any questions because they always have to ask the manager first. I sense some control issues on his behalf. I love smoothies so i really wanted to love this place but after asking if they were honoring a promotion found on the company website they (of course) had to call their manager. He was completely clueless and asked me to show him and after I did, instead of just saying no. He added the stipulation of a purchase in order to honor the promotion despite the company website very clearly stating the criteria. I pointed this out and he tried to tell me that I didn't understand the promotion and after reading the promotion back to him he said that I obviously wasn't using the right website.
