Went on a Saturday evening and had a fantastic time. No special event just a steady stream of nice people interested in the art. All ages, all styles, people just mixed and talked about art. Some were artists themselves. Deborah is the creative force behind the museum and she will give you a tour of the collection explaining the history and technology of the art of light. One local neon artist, Tom, was also there with a hands on demonstration. The evening was casual and friendly. We met interesting people in a beautiful venue. The museum/gallery is open Wednesday and Saturday evenings. Conveniently located in midtown, across the street and down the block from SLU hospital, there is ample free parking. The exhibits themselves are mesmerizing and the interior is so cozy with everything lit up. The crown jewel (to me at least), is a plasma piece hooked up to a sound board to read its vibrations. It is stunning to hear a seemingly random arc of plasma naturally producing classical music.
We thought it was worth admission price, but I'm not sure everyone will. The space is small. If you aren't that interested in art, this might not be the place for you. I absolutely recommend...
