Museum of Illusions - St. Louis — Attraction in St. Louis

Very disappointed with this place!!!

We drove hour’s to check out this Museum with my daughter my best friend and her son for spring break, if you google one the first thing that pops up that states it’s free! Not only does it say that it also says If you have a EBT card it’s free.. The lady we spoked to i explained that’s what it say’s clearly all over the internet and even showed her and she basically said sorry she doesn’t know why it says that but it’s not the case. Rude. We spent basically no time there other then bathroom breaks and the kids ready to go, the kids didn’t like it and we also weren’t impressed especially a child and adult being like $65 And there were 4 of us that went so over $100 for the kids to want to just see the gift shop pretty much. I also told the lady at the desk we didn’t like it being honestly because she said how was it and the kids didn’t as well and that was are only thing we planned that day and was looking forward to, but i was so surprised when she clearly didn’t seem to care whatsoever till i said wow and asked if i could talk to a manager, (she said she was the manager) which makes it that much worse!! But seeing like my shock of how like i couldn’t believe she didn’t care she eventually said she would take down my number and have someone higher up call me to see what they could do, Which nobody even did that. So disappointed on the lack of caring nobody enjoyed themselves, but also just basically how she dismissed us. I’m never one to complain ever..But when someone is unhappy with this place and with the experience and someone says oh you didn’t like it i’m sorry can’t do anything.. Till i said WOW and we were walking out then offers to see if someone can fix the problem and would have them call and that doesn’t...

Bought tickets online the day we were going when we arrived I told the person at the counter that the website over charged me tickets advertised at 25 per person but it rang me up at 29 per person she insisted the cost was 31 per person and I am wrong when she looked at the website she said "oh they must have lowered the cost" but by then the manager has stepped in and was demanding the price was right I said multiple times I wasn't looking for a refund just giving them the heads up of the wrong pricing at the site she demanded it was correct and the cost difference was the "service fee" that shows up at checkout when I told her even with the fee and taxes the math doesn't add up she pulled out her calculator to prove me wrong and added $50 for tickets $7 for taxes and $4 for fees to get $61 dollars of the $68 I was charged when she finally realized she was wrong she said "well I don't know what that's about but I can't do anything about it"

The exhibits themselves are basic illusions some were fun but all were set up for little kids save your money and go to the magic house or science center instead they are a far better experience for kids we were in and out in under 20 minutes there just isn't enough content nor enough variety to explain a $30 per person pricetag

The best part of the whole thing is the laugh we got about how the manager couldn't do the basic grade school math when she was presented with it we will be making jokes at her expense...

When we went as a family a month ago I had rated 5 stars. However we went back to The Foundry for my son’s birthday & because he had such a great time he wanted to go again with his friend. Well, NOW they would not let my husband & myself in without our Teacher IDs. We do not carry these & could prove our employment other ways prior. I actually no longer receive an ID at my school after we changed photo companies. So we decided to let my son & his friend go through. However even though my 13 year old is an adult price, they would not let home go without an adult. They said they needed someone over 18 with them. It says this no where. We were not about to pay $66-$86 to walk back through somewhere we’ve been before, so we left. It is not worth the cost. It is very cool & clean, but paying $40 for 4 of us with our teacher admission before made more sense. $80 for a family is insane. Get a better educator policy if you are going to offer it.
