BAD HANDICAP ASSISTANCE / GOOD SHOW AND ARENA. Overall arena was nice with leg room which a lot of other arenas do not have. Not really a bad seat in the place. Very impressed with the show. HOWEVER, was completely DISGUSTED with the way the handicap was dealt with. My mother is on oxygen and unable to walk long distances especially in cold weather. We parked in the garage (1st time here ever), was told to park by gate in handicap and "golf cart" would pick my parents up (both handicap). After waiting quite some time, it came and some lady (who could clearly walk took off running and ran past my mother and took the only seat left of 5)!! Well I'm sorry my mother CAN'T RUN! Obviously this lady had no morals! There needs to be a system for those who have been waiting for the "cart". Then after the show, we were told we had to exit gate D. (this was half way around the building, in the cold). My parents had to walk outside around the bldg to the gate we started at. Then we were told a "cart" would pick them up there. We waited for almost 20 mins. Finally my brother & I sought help. We were disgusted to find out "no more carts were running". So after making us walk outside AROUND the bldg then wait in the cold then stop the 1 and only cart that was running...they didn't want to assist us. My mother being short of breath, then started to get a nosebleed (probably from cold weather and elevated blood pressure due to the stress of it all). The staff kept saying "it's not that far." I'm sorry, if you can't breathe, you don't know what its like! A short walk for "us" is like 2 miles for her! They did not have a wheelchair either. After much discussion and throwing a fit, they finally managed to get someone to come pick her up. It took almost 45 mins of sitting in the cold and nose bleeding! The handicap situation MUST BE ADDRESSED BEFORE AND AFTER SHOW TIMES. Not everyone can rush out and catch the "cart" before they stop running. She had to change oxygen tanks and catch her breath and then walk very slow to get around the outside of the bldg. It was a disaster. Esp when staff is telling us there will be a cart shortly and come to find out "none were ever going to be coming". PLEASE...
Read moreLast week, I was at Chaifetz Arena to experience a concert experience of a lifetime. While I am of no knowledge as to HOW certain venues get certain acts, I was quite shocked at how much a small venue got such a massive band (maybe the band has more of a grandiose following in my head than in the states, I'm not sure.)
However, what the arena lacked in size it made up for in EVERY other category. To be honest, it might have been the best venue I've experienced for any concert. Period.
Upon arrival, the gate detail were very friendly, which seemed to be the way of St. Louis. It was a seamless safe, quick entry into the arena.
The only confusion was where GA were to go vs stand tickets. This could have been on me as I didn't have details. But again, security knew exactly where to direct and were very friendly.
The beer prices were reasonable, for an arena venue, but the lines were pretty long at the beginning. Nothing abnormal for a concert.
Once on the floor, the stage was set up and I have to admit, having been to previous concerts of the band, I again, was concerned about the size. I knew what the band was capable of and I assumed we would be getting a stripped down show.
I was wrong. Boy, was I wrong.
The band put on an excellent concert and were not hindered by the size at all. Everything was pristine. The security was nice, the crowd was well contained and genuinely enjoyed themselves, around us at least. We had enough space at the front, which was surely surprising.
The only down side I have to admit was no restrooms for GA in the front. To get to any sort of restroom, you had to shuffle through the crowd all the way to the back.
But besides that, Chaifetz let Muse put on one heck of a show (sorry for the cleaning crew) and I was incredibly impressed with my experience. To describe it in two words, Chaifetz was hospitable and freeing.
Thank you for allowing an...
Read moreI went here for a concert. Parking for this venue is an absolute joke! The traffic was so poorly managed it took an hour to get to even park. Based on that akone I wouldnt come here ever again. The VIP parking lot was $40. This venue needs to work on getting traffic control help to get people in and parked in a timely manner. The clear bag policy of this venue had many women turning around to put their purse back in the car. I luckily had read about this stupid policy and came prepared. Their were many screens up around the arena but they only had 2 on and the one closest to us was blocked by trussing for the concert. That's ridiculous. We were in seats right by a staff person working the event and if I was so tired of hearing her tell people that they can't stand there one more time. She did tell them they could sit in one of the seats next to us that they clearly didn't pay for. And after the concert, I was lingering in the seat waiting for the ridiculous traffic mess to simmer down and a staff member told us we had to leave and move out to the lobby and couldn't sit there. Everything about this venue was annoying and enough for me to...
