Lots of things to say about this place, so bear with me: -plenty of outlets along the booths and tables for electronic devices -GREAT STAFF -Gyoza appetizer was not great, but better than average

I came to this place looking for good ramen. I feel like St. Louis is, at best, lackluster when it comes to ramen options. I cannot speak to the sushi as of yet....maybe in the future.

I ordered the Nagasaki Champon, which is basically their seafood ramen. It came with oysters, shrimp, and [I believe] breaded octopus. I also opted to get some extra pork belly and egg and a side of Kimchi. IT WAS OUTSTANDING!

The fear of seafood in dishes like this is that it may overpower the rest of the flavor, especially when combined. I am happy to say that despite the myriad of seafood components, it does not overwhelm anything. There was great balance in this regard. The kimchi was average, but its only real purpose was to cleanse the palette when switching between noodles/broth, egg, pork belly, shrimp, etc.; it did its job. The broth was very satisfying and seemed to lend itself to this remarkable balance. Noodles were al dente, which is a first for me when it comes to ramen, and worked perfectly as this just seemed to broaden the spectrum of textures available.

The real gem, though, was the pork belly. You could eat a stack of this stuff on its own and it would be a meal fit for a king. I cannot say it enough: if you have the option to add pork belly to whatever it is you want to eat, GET IT!

In short, Midtown Sushi and Ramen managed to pack an extraordinary array of textures and flavors into something the size of a cereal bowl. IT...

I went into the midtown sushi today and order two sushi rolls the cashier rushed me as I asked questions about what I wanted to order because I wasn't sure of the items name. So I asked a question he he automatically put it in the register as my order and said anything else when I didn't order it I just asked a question mind you in the only one in the restaurant at this time so there was no need to rush me. Then the woman that was making my order used her bare hand to drop my tempura shrimp I'm the fryer so I said don't you guys wear gloves and she said I'm about to wash my hand and the cashier yelled she's going to wash her hand after she already dropped the shrimp in the dryer bare handed, then the cashier yelled sarcastically can I get you any water while you wait I said no thanks then he saw that I was watching them make my food so he suggested I sit down and he will bring me my food so I sat at the bar where I could still see them prepare my food and he gave me a look like really then he yelled would you like soy sauce low sodium or regular all in a loud and sarcastic way line he was really upset that I suggested that they wear gloves while preparing my food then when it was done he brought me my bag and held it in my face like here you go can I kiss your but anymore and said loudly and sarcastically enjoy your day I felt like they were offended just because I asked them to wear gloves am I wrong or what there no telling what they were doing before I walked in the building and who gets offended just because I ask for them to wear gloves it's only right...

‼️WARNING FOR BIG PARTIES I am very disappointed with my experience here. I came with my family of 6 for dinner. First off, the sushi had WAY too much rice. The rice was SO dry and in no world should one have to pay over $10 for 6 slices of typical, very mid sushi that is 70% rice. What a scam. Ramen was nothing special. Personally I thought it was a bit too salty and oily. Udon was very simple. Barely came with any condiments. Just a bowl of noodles and soup made with a lot of msg that is definitely not worth $15.

‼️And to top it off, I gave this place a 1 star because we were charged a 20% big party fee. Which is fine, I understand that’s what some restaurants do, but my server never mentioned ANYTHING about it. I was wondering why the price was so much higher than expected, but I didn’t question and out of courtesy, still left a 16% tip. Through this whole process my server was just staring at me and didn’t say anything. Yes, the service was okay. She took our order and gave us our food but never checked back on us again. In my opinion, if you are going to automatically charge me for a fee, you should let me know ahead of time. If you don’t say anything it feels like you’re purposely hiding it to get more money. To be honest this place does not deserve anywhere near a 4.5 rating. There are so many more delectable and authentic options in Delmar Loop with MUCH better food. I will not be going...
