This establishment was very professional and polite in all exchanges that we participated in! I emailed this jeweler to ask if they could verify the gemstones in an engagement ring of mine. (Gemvara shut their doors before I could verify the legitimacy of the stones. They also never sent me "appraisal" paperwork verifying the legitimacy of the stones)

Alex Wallace, an appraiser, responded to my email rather promptly and established a date when I could come by with my ring. Since I work long hours my fiance had to go in my stead, to which he graciously accepted! Long story short, he verified my ring did indeed have Tanzanite and Moissanite stones.

Even if my fiance and I never bought a single jewelry piece from this establishment, the fact he took time out of his day to verify such a minor task meant the world to us! I feel at peace knowing my gemstones are not only beautiful, but that they're legitimate. We both are happy we weren't ripped off. We're "young" and this is our first engagement in our lives! So this may not mean much to some, but for us this meant everything. He's happy he got me the real deal, and I'm just happy knowing what they truly are. :)

My fiancé and I had the pleasure of working with Merkley Kendrick Jewelers in creating my engagement ring. We had conducted our own research and became quite knowledgeable about the diamond trade before consulting with several jewelry stores both locally and out of town. Most jewelers intentionally mislead us and glossed over our tough questions. Overall we found the sales people knew less about diamonds than we did. We were thrilled to find Merkley Kendrick Jewelers right here in Louisville. Mark knows more about diamonds than anyone we spoke with throughout the process including jewelers in New York and California. He spent many hours working with us to ensure we ended up with the ring we envisioned. He went the extra mile to find stones that were not readily available. Mark also helped us prioritize our budget to create a ring we absolutely love. We are so grateful he encouraged us to have the ring hand made. It is stunning.
