This juried arts festival will be celebrating its 59th year in 2025. If you didn’t get there this year, save the date for July 10-13, 2025. It’s worth putting it on your calendar. The day before the main event starts is dedicated to young/kids artists and performers. The event is set up on both the Penn State Campus and downtown State College - making it a true “town and gown” event. The campus and streets are filled with only the best artists demonstrating and showing and selling their artwork, sculptures, jewelry, pottery, furniture and more. There is something for everyone. Several stages throughout the festival host musical acts. There is something for everyone. Don’t miss the dumping water buckets sculpture on Allen Street - always a big hit for the young and young at heart! And it’s dog friendly! 🐶

It is always fun to walk in the festival of the art Street, and I found lots of interesting design as well as friendly artists to chat with. however, I do think that the food street is not well designed and besides, I heard complaints from the artists that the rental fee and registration fee are very high so that they have to raise up their products price in order to afford the prices and living expenses such as the hotel fee and the parking fee and moving fee etc.

So we hit up both art shows in the area today. I have to say the "People's Choice" show won out over this. Both offer different things at MUCH different price points but the Penn State show is just too spread out. Lack of parking, much fewer food options and straight up neglected restrooms also didn't help. Neat to see, and we found a few exciting vendors but this show won't be a repeat for us.
