We are frequent movie goers. Because the price of concessions are beyond ridiculous at the Regal at the Treasure Coast Mall, our first choice to see a movie is the Regency in Stuart. While not deeply discounted for matinees like other theaters we have been to in other places, the prices are at least moderately priced and for seniors, the same price regardless of the time of day. The concessions are not overly expensive (as compared to other theaters) and there is a nice children's or senior combo deal that makes having popcorn and a drink affordable. On Tuesdays there is also a Senior combo deal that provides an extra discount on the senior combo popcorn & drink deal if purchased with the movie ticket. As seniors who enjoy frequent movies, this extra discount is greatly appreciated. Also, the popcorn (buttered) has a much better flavor than the Regal, plus they have popcorn salt at the counter that you can add, which the Regal does not offer.
The theater is older, but spacious, the seats are comfortable (high back and recline) and the screens are large with good picture and sound quality. There have been some problems occasionally with the volume being painfully loud (especially the pre-movie ads), where we have seen patrons request that it be adjusted to a more comfortable level. But the theater has always been clean and the employees very helpful and friendly, and seem to enjoy working there.
The bathroom renovation appears to finally be completed and have turned out very nice. They are always clean, well stocked and well lit.
The Regency has a loyalty rewards card and has finally added a function to their website to be able to monitor how many points are on the card and what rewards you have not yet redeemed. That is very helpful and the rewards are very welcome! And seeing movies as frequently as we do, they add up fast.
Bottom line is that Regency 8 Cinema is a nice opportunity to view first run movies at a moderate price point in pleasant, comfortable surroundings and we appreciate having a theater like this so conveniently located. As long as they continue to keep their prices for both tickets and concessions reasonably priced, we will continue to patronize them at every...
Read moreHad a very disappointing experience over the weekend at Epic in Stuart, FL. Pre-purchased tickets to see Beetlejuice at 3pm. Got there 30 minutes early, bought $37 worth of popcorn, drinks, etc. Get into the theatre with the screen not on showing previews. It was completely blank. The A/C wasnt turned on so it was hot which is not the norm when it comes to movie theatre's. With a packed house of moviegoers, 3pm came and went. At 3:07pm we went to the lobby to inquire and the cast of characters were too busy talking to one another to realize that there was a problem. When we told them that the screen was off and nothing appeared to be operational, they said "Oh, we had problems with that projector earlier in the day"! They went to get the manager to go try and fix the projector. So you knew there was a technical problem and still sold tickets. Ten minutes went by and one of the "Kids" came in (first time) to let moviegoers know that they were attempting to fix the problem and it would be 10 minutes. Fingers crossed! A total of 15 minutes had passed before we went back out and asked what the status was to then be told "it's not looing good". We packed up and walked out for a refund. The manager who was doing the refunds, wouldn't make eye contact nor did he even apologize for the inconvenience. We lost a total of one hour of our time and $37 in concessions charges. As a manager, I would expect that he would apologize and offer a gift card for the concessions towards our next visit. NOTHING! I don't care how much lipstick you put on Epic in Stuart, it's still a horrible venue, especially with the poor customer service. I would rather drive to Jensen of Jupiter and pay more for a better experience. To close this out, my son was taking me to see Beetlejuice for my birthday to which he left feeling very badly that we couldn't share in the experience. If you want to draw people back to the theater's you need to act like you care. The manager and supporting team...
Read morePeople wonder why nobody goes to the movies anymore.... here is yet another example of a bad movie theater....
I was really rooting for this theater, we badly need a decent theater on the Treasure Coast. This theater is currently under major renovation so take my review with a grain of salt. THE AUDIO SYSTEM WAS TERRIBLE. I am very confident that the audio was only coming out of the one front speaker out of the 16+ speakers surrounding the room. Therefore spoken audio was coming in super loud , but you could not hear any other audio channels or sound effects aka music, background ambient noises ect. Totally ruined the movie going experience, I would have been better off watching the movie in mono audio.
Obviously, all of the elderly folks in the theater probably paid no attention, but for even the most casual audio and video enthusiast it was completely unwatchable.
To sell a ticket and present a Hollywood movie this way was an absolute SHAME, and insult to not only your customers, and the art of cinema, but to everyone that worked hard on the movie, especially the sound engineers and the composers. I emailed twice about this, and no response.
I can happily tolerate bad employees, staff shortages, long lines, expensive prices, filthy seats, bad smells, massive constructions, ect... but... they ruined this movie.
I can't believe I actually paid money to watch a movie with no music. If it wasn't mass chaos on one of the busiest movie going days of the year right after 4th of July I would have stayed and complained in person, but I was embarrassed that I took my friend to this movie theater.
I guess for now I will keep plugging my nose, and going down the road to the trashcan rodent infested Regal Theater in Jensen, at least there the audio system...
