A most disappointing experience. At Christmas, I purchased a lovely duster with a matching tank. Turned out the tank was two sizes smaller than the duster. So, I returned it asking if she could order another for me as it was a gift for my co-worker. She said she would but that it would take a couple of weeks because the supplier was away. I was more than happy to wait for two to three weeks if it meant my co-worker would get the balance of her gift. So, I took a store credit in lieu of my anticipated replacement tank.
Weeks went by with no word. I called the store leaving a message and also spoke with a friend who worked there via text, then in person via a phone call. I was given excuse after excuse.
More weeks went by and by mid-March, I was done. I walked in to find out what was going on and why was no one responding to my messages. After all, I've been a VERY good customer. I've spent thousands of dollars in Kissed By Chloe. In fact, I wear the apparel I find there while on stage at the Washington State Fair Grand Stands singing the National Anthem in front of 10,000 people. Hundreds of people have asked me where I got my outfits and I have always, and happily been a free walking piece of advertising for this business.
Sadly, I learned the owner never had any intention of ordering that replacement tank top and in fact, made it clear that I was NOT to be given a cash refund. Thankfully, my friend has better scruples than the owner, gave me the refund and resigned her position based on the simple fact the owner lacked integrity and honesty. While I will miss my beautiful finds from this store, there are other places that will sell me these items on line. Word of mouth has been pretty strong too as I've told all my friends who used to go there about this and they no longer visit this store. What a shame. Business owners need to know and understand this. If you do your customers wrong you will pay a hard consequence.
05.30.23: Response to Kissed by Chloe reply: Yes, you gave me a store credit but it was not to buy something else. You made it very clear the person who had the tanks would not be available for two weeks as she was at a trade show. You said you would reach out to her and get back to me. You admitted as such in your reply to this review. Because you didn't call me, I called your store several times for you (you said it would have been nice if I'd merely called you). You never returned my calls. And, since my friend told me personally and in your store that you directed her NOT to give me a refund and that you never intended to try and get me a replacement tank, I know my friend well and know her morals. She would never have told me this. In either case, I found a new place that provides the exact same line and have moved on. By the way, what took you so long to respond?
06.12.23: While I see the owners statement, she never said she couldn't get me the tank. Also, she never said the credit was for something else in the store. It was set so that when the new tank came in I could use that credit for the purchase. As for my friend that works there, I merely stated what she told me. And finally, and as noted above, I DID CALL THE STORE several times. The owner not once returned my call to speak with me. I got nothing but excuses. So she can try to reason this out in her mind all she wants. She lost a GOOD customer and for her, that's her loss. Word of mouth goes a long way and shame on her for tying to excuse her actions. Take accountability. You failed to return my calls and if you feel you are being bad mouthed on social media, then you should have taken responsibility for this from day one.
I find it hard to believe you are "sorry" given your reply. "Call me if you would like to discuss". Lady, I called you to discuss for several months and you chose not to respond. You want to discuss this with me? CALL ME! ...
Read moreReally cute shop. Was really excited to try on a few things. My friend brought me to the shop with her kiddos since they went a few weeks prior and loved it. 2 of the ladies working were really nice and sweet but the other older lady shouldn't be working in customer service. When I 1st came in I was interested in a pair of shoes and asked her about them and she brushed me off and made me feel like I wasn't worth helping. I still was browsing as my friend and her kids were finding pants that looked perfect on her. My friend had a tiny backpack purse on her shoulder and it brushed against the old ladies shoulder in the fitting room area. My friend immediately apologized. The rude old lady associate turns around and was obviously upset and told my friend that she needed to take her pack off because it was a tight space and she REALLY didn't appreciate her bag brushing against her. At this point I was done shopping there and honestly made me have anxiety and not want to shop anymore at all. I'm a single mom who doesn't get out ever and was having such a great time with my friend and her kiddos. Unfortunately this lady put a real damper on all of our moods. Though we still went to all the other shops in the area and spent 100's elsewhere.
Big mistake, HUGE. Pretty woman moment lol.
Adorable shop. Hopefully you don't have the same experience we did with the one particular lady, who should be fired or not allowed to be in...
Read moreConsumer Beware! All items purchased in this store are FINAL SALE apparently, even though it is not communicated with the customer at time of purchase. I waited until the COVID lockdown was lifted to shop here because I know how important is it to support small business.
I purchased a 3 tier cake stand and 3 candles. Once home, the cake stand wasn’t as big as I needed it to be and the candles don’t give off any scent when lit. I went in to return these items and was told they don’t take returns because “once the money comes in, it goes right back out.”
The customer experience is important- especially with fierce online competition. I spent the time to go down to this store during a pandemic, pay above retail, and would have put the money back into the store because we need small businesses to make it through this tough time. I’m frustrated and saddened by my experience here, and will be looking elsewhere for...
