My recent visit to Golf Land USA was a huge letdown. As someone who cherishes the joys of mini-golf and the delightful experiences it can bring to families and friends, I went to Golf Land USA with high expectations. Unfortunately, the entire facility feels outdated and poorly maintained, leading to a significantly disappointing experience. When I arrived, it was evident that Golf Land USA had seen better days. The entrance, which should have been inviting and vibrant, was instead lacklustre and worn down. The signage looked faded and neglected, setting a discouraging tone for what was to come. The parking lot had numerous potholes, and the landscaping was unkempt, with overgrown weeds and patches of dead grass. This initial impression immediately raised concerns about the overall quality of the facility. The mini-golf course, which should be the main attraction, was in terrible condition. Many of the holes were damaged, with torn turf and broken obstacles. It was clear that little effort had been put into upkeep. Each hole appeared to have been neglected for years, with peeling paint, rusting metal, and chipped concrete. The vibrant colors and whimsical designs typically associated with mini-golf were nowhere to be found. Instead, the course was drab and uninspiring, a far cry from the fun and engaging experience it should have provided. The condition of the turf was particularly concerning. It was ripped or completely missing in several areas, exposing the rough concrete beneath. This made it challenging to play and posed a potential safety hazard. The holes were uneven, with obstacles either broken or missing altogether. One hole had a windmill with broken blades, another had a water feature that was dry and filled with debris. It was clear that no effort had been made to repair or replace these elements, leading to a frustrating and unenjoyable experience. Customer service at Golf Land USA left much to be desired. The staff appeared indifferent and inattentive, offering little assistance or friendliness. Upon entering the facility, I was greeted with a lacklustre reception from the front desk staff. Their disinterest in providing a welcoming environment was apparent, and my inquiries were met with curt, unhelpful responses. Throughout my visit, I noticed that staff members were often absent from critical areas, including the mini-golf course. No attendants were available to address the issues with the damaged holes or to assist with any questions or concerns. This lack of presence and attentiveness contributed to the overall feeling of neglect and disregard for the customer experience. Additionally, the few interactions I had with staff were disappointing. When I brought up the issues with the course, I was met with dismissive responses and a lack of accountability. Evidently, the staff had little interest in addressing customer complaints or making any effort to improve the situation. This indifference only compounded the negative experience and left me feeling frustrated and unheard. Beyond the mini-golf course, the rest of the facilities at Golf Land USA were equally underwhelming. The arcade, which could have provided an additional source of entertainment, was outdated and poorly maintained. Many games were out of order or disrepair, and the overall selection was limited and uninspiring. The dimly lit arcade area felt cramped, lacking the vibrant and energetic atmosphere one would expect from such a venue. The snack bar was another disappointment. The selection of food and beverages was minimal, with a limited menu of uninspired options. The quality of the food was subpar, and the cleanliness of the area was questionable. Tables were dirty, and trash bins were overflowing, indicating a lack of attention to basic hygiene and maintenance. Restroom facilities were similarly neglected. The restrooms were filthy and poorly stocked, with broken fixtures and a general sense of disrepair. This further contributed to the feeling of neglect and lack of investment in...
Read moreMemorial day weekend but early enough in the day to not get crazy with all the traffic. It was obvious the weather was getting hot and the friendly cashier told us we can extend for another round after we finished the first eighteen holes if we still want it although we had asked for the both rounds right away. Well he was right after the first round we were so hot we really did not want to go for another one (saved $12). Considering that the whole area is well kept and the game is fun, this would have been 5 stars. Second part in the Arcade, let's give it 3 stars for the games, as usual it was very loud but the negative part was yet to come. Our kids were lucky to win more than 1000 tickets (so it was not too cheap for us). Standing at the counter they picked a couple stuffed animals and suddenly the ticket count was different than what had been displayed (one item was more tickets than shown on the display). At a store or even in other places no big deal, usually the customer gets the item at the displayed price. Not so at this location. The manager Casey ripped of the price information, said it was the wrong price and we can only get the item at the higher ticket count (excuse me!?). When I said the number on an item is what the customer is supposed to pay, he got very unfriendly, insisting that it was marked wrong and basically dismissed our request. Ooops did I mention the difference in market number of tickets was 6% of value, marked with 425 tickets and he insisted on 450. The difference was a piece of candy (or not) but the customer interface was so incredibly poor that I felt compelled to write this review. Overall still a 3 star because we really like the place and the first cashier for the golf was very nice. The Casey guy clearly deserved a "0 star" at least for his performance today. Summary, limit your activities to the mini golf and you will...
Read moreMy rating is based on the party service, not the golf center itself. Golfing was fun, but the birthday party was disorganized. I booked our event a month in advance and confirmed the food a week in advance. Yet, they seemed to not be ready for us when we were done after an hour of golfing. Our party host brought out each food one item at a time instead of loading everything on the cart at once. I had a strong urge to go in and help, as the hostess did not seem to have a grasp on the order of things. There was a lot of waiting between "courses". We're talking quantities for only their minimum of 10 kids: 2 delivered pizzas, a pre-packaged veggie tray ($10 at Safeway but they charge you $35), chicken wings and samosas. Each tray of food was $35. Of course, you can't bring anything but the cake.
The kids were really anxious to get to the arcade. Then when we were finally done eating / cake, she asks if I'm ready for her to make the game cards. ??!? Again, we were there about 2 hours at this point. Could she have not done that anytime before that point? More waiting. Another issue: cards that come with the party packages include 20 credits per guest. They don't mention that games average 5 credits each. I bought more credits because obviously what 10 yo boy is going to be happy with only 4 video games??? Seriously, guys? Go for the golf (super fun), but do the party part...
