Actually kinda sad and disappointed.
This used to be my go to store for TCG singles (Pokemon) maybe they’re scared of scalpers now or something idk but I spent thousands here buying a lot of different singles would be down here 3 times a week from the city to buy cards becuase prices used to be amazing. Either below TCG by a couple dollars or at market or slightly above.
If you buy cards at 40-50% (which ever it was) cash market value there’s no reason to be greedy and label LP cards as NM cards to squeeze out extra cash that’s crazy. You’re already up 50% (borderline offensive lol) it’s starting to sound like tofu trading so sad always talked down on tofu and praised cardart. Probably won’t be coming here anymore $320 for a nm charizard for example from 151 when market is 240-270 is crazy to me that’s more than 20% over TCG player sellers when other local stores have stacks of the same card at 240~270. But your store your rules i guess just goes to show the greediness of the store now. Sadly I guess gotta go up north for cards now heart broken fr I used to really like this store. Everything was above 10-15% TCG on today’s visit $8 cards for $12-$15. So sad.
The cards used to match the description NM/LP. And prices used to be accurate according to condition of the card. Labeling cards with clear deep scratches really dirty and with dents and dings as NM is crazy. The rude employee not knowing what TCG is when you ask how they price the cards and show them listings is mind bending to me lol. Showed him TCG listing on a card (zekrom) for the condition of the card on the TCG APP which is available on the APP store in case you didn’t know shop owner lmao, and he looked lost so I showed him the website TCG player with other LP listings. I also felt offended like he expected me to be picking numbers outta thin air or something when I’m Showing him TCG player listings from the app lmao so much time spent on your phone you should know what the TCG player app looks like maybe if Yall got off your phones and payed attention to the customer you guys would notice. “Idk where those numbers are from” TCG player is pretty easy to recognize as a website lol and it’s what you say you use to price your cards it’s pretty standard stuff i would assume no? Again if you make your own prices that cool my fault for assuming you actually priced according to TCG
If you don’t price match or move prices that’s fine more power to you just say we make up our prices ourselves and that’s what we want for the card that’s end of argument, but to say “idk where you’re getting your card price numbers from” when TCG is being showed to you both in APP and WEBSITE which is your “standard” for pricing your cards according to your website then that’s when I start to get confused. New people to the hobby beware make sure you double check prices of cards before you purchase here.
Maybe for playing it’s fine since it’s always full but probably gonna stick to online/marketplace from now on feels like card shops are getting greedy now. Also maybe cause they focus so much on playing the game there standard for conditions of cards is not as good as they probably are more lenient than a collector would be. If you’re looking for gradable cards this is not the...
Read moreI had an overall terrible and unacceptable experience at this store. First of all, a majority of their card prices are LARGLY higher than they are online, like the trainers/commons that are $3-4, which can be HIGHLY predatory to children buying cards who do not know better. I cannot stress enough: IF YOU ARE A PARENT, BUY CARDS ONLINE, tcg player is a great resource if you optimize the cart before purchase. Second: I came to this shop for a pokemon prerelease event and it was WILDLY unplanned. To start, I called the shop over a week before the event and they got the date completely wrong, and when I asked why the official pokemon website had a different date, they corrected themselves. Long story short, I showed up TWO hours early for the event and it was ALREADY full, even though they told me on the phone to show up only an hour early. I proceeded to ask someone behind the counter questions about the next day’s event and he told me they HAD to hold it, so I made plans to get there early. Maybe 15 minutes later, after asking the person behind the counter many questions, I asked another person behind the counter the another question about the next day’s event. He then told me that there was NO event the next day. I told him the other guy said something different and he said « that guy doesn’t even work here » . It is unacceptable for this to happen. Imagine if I hadn’t asked again and showed up 6 am the next day to make it into the event. This was wildly unprofessional and with the prices, I found myself having to leave this one star review. Hopefully these issues can be fixed in the future, but I myself will never come back to this shop when so many better...
Read moreThe lack of decency and customer service that cardart employees have displayed is shocking. Except for the owner (who seems like a nice person), I have not met a single cardart worker who was kind or respectful (and I went there quite a few times). All cards in the store were objectively 20% over the market price. Additionally, the employees seemed irritated and annoyed when I curiously asked about cards and different pokemon sets (because I haven't been active in the pokemon community for a while, so I was trying to update my knowledge base), like they had something better to do than talk to a prospective buyer. If you want to make sales, don't treat your customers in such a demeaning manner. One of the worst customer service experiences I have ever experienced. While doing more research on this store, I found these people buy cards for 50-60% percent market price and sell them for 120%. I get they need to make money, but overcharging the customer is an insanely backwards growth strategy. Their repulsive lack of respect for the customer is a huge turnoff as well. Never...
