I would give negative stars if I could and I want to be clear this is not about Ross as a corporation, this is specifically about the Ross in Sunnyvale at 119 E El Camino Real. I almost always buy my three sons' shoes at Ross without any problems, however these particular shoes fell apart almost immediately. I took them to the Sunnyvale Ross to return them and it was a bad experience from the beginning. The lines were not clearly marked and so people didn't know where to stand, the two women at the cash register seemed confused about something and we're both standing at one register for a long time while no one was being helped. When I did finally get to the register I was told that she would not take the shoes back because they were used...I'm not sure what she normally does with shoes she buys, but at my house we buy shoes and then we use them. I would go so far as to say we use them with the expectation that they will not immediately fall apart! She wasn't nice, she spoke harshly to me, and was insulting! She told me I would need to speak to the manager, which was great because that's what I wanted to do! I waited FOREVER and finally the manager came. She told me that I would have to go to the Ross in Mountain View where I bought the shoes because Ross stores are not connected. Really? I know that's nonsense because I did go to the Mountain View Ross and...I'm getting ahead of myself. She also told me that at the Mountain View store they would check the cameras to verify that I had purchased the shoes. I was shocked! Did she think I stole the shoes, ripped the soles off, and bought them back to her for a refund in some convoluted scheme to steal from Ross? She said she couldn't say whether I stole them or not, but that the cameras would have to be checked. I was flabbergasted! She also told me several times that she could not take them back because they had been used. I asked her if she would be happy if she bought shoes and the souls came off. She said, "No," but then again said that she could not take them back because they had...you know where this is going. I told her that when she says things like that she sounds patronizing. Then I said that I would go to the Mountain View store, but that she should think about how she talks to people and that I would NEVER shop at Ross again. I was fired up, furious, and in disbelief as I drove over to the Mountain View store, where I had a completely different experience. I have amended my declaration and so it's not that I won't ever shop at Ross again, I will never shop at the Sunnyvale Ross again. Please see my positive review of the Mountain View Ross for the happy ending...
Read moreIf I could give this store a 0 stars I would. This will be my last time going to this store. I liked the things and prices, but they have very bad customer service. I had a bad insident with a cashier named Veronica ( Asian older lady with short hair) or that’s what she said, since they don’t even have a name badge. So me and my family were going to pay for some toys. Not only did we had to wait a long time in line but when we were going to pay the lady was so upset that a toy did not have a price tag. Not only she was lazy to search the item, but she was also so rude trying to blame me like if it was my fault that the toy didn’t have a price. She just picked a random price from the computer ($12 ) which was pricey for a small cars toy. I asked to speak with the manager because I new that the toy was not $12 and she refused to call the manager. Not only she told me to go find another similar toy which there was none, but also she told me hurry up and decided to buy it or not because she had a long line. How can they hire people like this with bad attitude when things get hectic in the store. If I wanted to pay $12 for a toy I would go to target instead with better customer service. Things like things makes the store...

Two days ago, I visited this Ross location to return an item. I encountered an issue with the cashier which did not want to accept my return and told me that it is better for me to do the return to the store location I bought the item from, which is all the way at Mountain View, she also insisted that it is because they need to access the video camera. I was shocked from hearing this, I did not want to further insist because I know she will not process my return and also because she is way elder to me.
I approached the protection asset staff by the door named "Hector" and asked him where I can file a complaint. He asked me my situation and was kind enough to call the manager name "Mansour". When the manager came out and heard what my situation is, he then apologized for the inconvenience and told one of the other cashiers to perform my return transaction and it went through as it should be "without any problems".
I really would like to commend "Hector", the Asset Protection personnel and "Mansour", the Manager for giving me excellent customer service and preventing what could have been a bad...
