If you’re cruising through Sunnyvale and craving something solid and satisfying, Sourdough Bread Company is a sleeper hit that deserves way more hype. This place is all about that golden, tangy, legit sourdough , none of that basic “white bread pretending to be sourdough” nonsense. We’re talking chewy crust, soft interior, and that unmistakable bite of fermented magic. Now, let’s get into the real reason I keep coming back: the sandwiches. They’ve got this perfect system with 4”, 6”, or 8” so you can vibe with whatever kind of hunger you’re working with. The 4” is great if you’re just snacky, the 6” is the sweet spot for lunch, and the 8” is for when you’re going full beast mode (no judgment). Every sandwich I’ve tried has come out fresh, warm, and stuffed to the edges. Seriously, no sad, soggy center here. Favorites? The turkey bacon avocado hits every time, but even the veggie has soul. Don’t sleep on the soups and salads, either. The salads are actually fresh not just a handful of greens tossed with token toppings. The clam chowder? Creamy, comforting, and loaded with flavor. Pro tip: do the soup-and-half-sandwich combo. It’s the move. Inside, the vibe is casual but super clean, with a friendly but the wait time can get long during lunch rush. If you’re into local gems with real food made right, this spot’s worth adding to your...
Read moreWas going to have dinner at Five Guys but then saw this place and decided to try something new. Since COVID I feel like it's hard to find a place that has great customer service, a delicious product and a clean environment. This place is a triple threat!!!! My caprese sandwich was so good and we only had to wait 10 min for 2 sandwiches to be made. The owner was beyond nice (wish I had gotten her name) and didn't rush us at all while we ordered despite being near closing time and we needed a few minutes to decide since we hadn't been there before. We dined in and happened to stay a few minutes past closing. As someone who used to work in a restaurant, I appreciated their attention to detail when it came to their closing cleaning routine. Even the bathrooms were super clean! I commend the owner for working side by side with her employees until closing on a Friday night. I'm not in this part of town very often but this place is a reason to come around more. Also, the cookie I had was a...
Read moreWe stumbled on this place by accident and what a delicious accident it was! It was not long before closing, and while my husband & i usually won't enter any restaurant within 30 minutes of closing, the kind and gracious staff assured we had plenty of time and they had ample food, and it was very clean. We both had clam chowder in bread bowls; the soup was outstanding, super flavorful, hot and exactly what I needed! The bread bowls were perfect! Not chewy, perfectly toasted and not too heavy.
We both tried to eat the whole thing but couldn't quite make it so it was more than enough food. Plus, even after ordering and getting our food, the staff checked in with us, more than once, to ensure everything was ok. My hubby and I have both worked decades in the food service industry so its little things like that which will bring us back to a place. We dont live in the area but next time we come thru, we know to come here!...
