Finally a real Latino supermarket in the Weston area, is very clean the produce department is amazing! A LOT better and cheaper and more variety than Publix, they have a Real Fish Market! and the meat market is great too, this is my go to place for BBQng, can't beat the quality versus price. the only downside is that the market is a bit small in size when it gets crowded, but is manageable. the only real complain is the little bread shop stile market that all they have is previously frozen ready to eat food, and it taste like frozen, the empanadas, cachitos etc are really bad, But that's the only bad thing.
Well, I had to update this review, This place went down hill big times, at least the fish market is Really bad, today is been the second time purchasing sea food for a Paella and all the sea food that I got from the seafood "fresh"/ all Frozen now, counters taste like Soap, the first time it happend, we thought it was us, today we all 10 people confirmed the sea food tasted like soap, Never again will get sea food from this place. The produce and the deli are still good, is too bad that the quality went down so drastically and this is before it changed name to Key Food and is now worst, Very sad 😔. Tipically latino stile, they start great and start lowering quality to increase their profits.
I'm sure after this bad review at least 6 more 5 stars reviews are going to pop up, out of the blues $$ just to keep their...
Read moreYesterday was one of those workdays where I needed comfort food, which for me is just a simple Cuban home-cooked meal. Key Food which we all still call "Bravo," is just a couple of blocks away. And, with so many prepared hot food choices, I always feel like it's the holidays when I step in there.
I often buy their Rotisserie chicken--it's like no other. You know the Mojo chicken where shopping is a pleasure? No way José! The chicken here is twice as mojo'ed and flavorful. Even the breast is juicy and succulent.
I accompanied my protein with Moros y Cristianos (black beans & rice cooked together), tostones (fried green plantains) with steamed calabaza (pumpkin) sautéed in EVOO with fresh ginger, smashed purple garlic, and slices of purple onions; all purchased right here. To top it off, I bought cream-filled red velvet cupcakes for a decadent dessert.
The store is always clean, well-merchandised with wide aisles and less products on the end caps--so it doesn't look cluttered like it did before. If you like fresh fish--this is the place! I love their wild caught salmon fillets, cut and packed in an ice bag for freshness.
There's so much to choose from that you wouldn't otherwise find in a popular grocery chain. And...the customer service is...
Read moreIt was Sunday night, when it occurred to us to go look for empanadas with coffee at Key Food, since we know they sell tasty empanadas. They were just about to close the cafeteria when we arrived and saw that they had the coffee machine turned off and were cleaning it. The worker, Gina, a very kind young woman with a friendly smile, although she looked tired, she didn't stop smiling and told us that the cafeteria was already closed. I explained to him that on the phone they told me that they would be open until 8:30 pm and at that time it was 8:15 pm. She, without leaving her kindness and her smile, told me that even though she was about to start cleaning the machine, she would gladly make me a coffee. She did not stop smiling and very kindly attended me. I asked her name, she told me I'm Gina, at her command. WOW !!!… .I assure you that I pray to God to bless our dear Gina in her work, in her family and in everything in her life. I think she understands that she is the face of the company and that only the humble, simple, attentive and kind attention, she speaks more than a thousand advertisements that she can spend in the Supermarket. Thank God for Gina. The Lord give you much more Gina. In the name of...
