Café Canela — Restaurant in Sunrise

The only reason i’m giving two stars is because I have respect for the cooks but otherwise it would be a zero. Since the moment you walk in the employees make you feel unwelcome, they look at you as if they’re doing you a favor. Their responses are loaded with bad attitude and disrespect. I went there yesterday to order some empanadas and tequeños I patiently waited because they had to make them. When I got home I realized that they “forgot” to put one empanada in the box, an empanada that was already paid for. They knew i waited for at least 15 minutes in their location and they were incapable to at least shout at me while I was leaving to let me know that my order was not complete. Helpful employees demonstrate their pride and professionalism, ensuring the food and coffee were presented as great as it was 5 years ago. Viva Cafe Canela! I highly recommend Cafe Canela. It never disappoints. Consistent quality and taste, consistent quality customer attention, and consistent cleanliness. The Pabellón, the national dish of Venezuela, has been perfected here. I will suggest the beef to accompany the fluffy white rice, very rich and flavorful black beans and the sweetest plantains around. It can also be put into an empanada if you are in a hurry and do not have the luxury to sit and enjoy the restaurants authentic atmosphere. Horrible service, As soon we walked in the cashier lady look like she did not want to take our order. As we in line one of their locals came around the line and cut us and started ordering, remind you we still wasn’t done ordering The cashier didn’t even care about our order making us feel like our money wasn’t good enough . The cook felt like he didn’t need to explain to us what type of topping we can add to our sandwich like if we were annoying him . They had us wait over 30 mins for our sandwich which was cold . They made racist comments and looked at us like we were crazy since you tell we are Puerto Ricans . I never felt so disrespected and violated in any other culture bakery.
