After my family member was transferred to this facility we received no contact from staff and called the facility for several days for updates on her status. We were advised repeatedly by nursing staff they would transfer our call to her room wherein the phone would repeatedly ring or that she was sleeping and unavailable. We were told that staff would schedule a care team meeting to discuss her care. The front desk was polite but when transferred to nursing staff they were consistently rude and abrupt. After four days we were finally advised that our family member did not actually have a working phone in her room and a work order would be submitted. Staff never contacted our family and we waited another day and still received no return communication and immediately went into the facility to find family member soiled and crying. Family member was told by staff that she was not soiled enough and left in a diapers for several hours (she was not in a diaper prior to admittance). No one had advised our family member that our family had been attempting to call them for days. My family member was immobile and never placed in her wheelchair, taken to the bathroom or provided access to a phone. Family member advised that her medications were given several hours late and staff would ignore her requests for assistance. When we advised staff we were removing our family member from the facility immediately we were threatened that we could be charged for her care since we left against medical advice. There were holes in her room wall and room was unclean and smelled. Tm 🤬

My brother was incarcerated at Alaska Gardens on 12/25/2024. Brother lasted only 15 days and died. When we visited him, he said you need to get me out of here. His roommate Mathew also did not enjoy the care and took us to remove your brother from this place.

On 12/31 my brother wanted out of there. So, I email Emma to discharge him but Dr. Lemma said he will not sign off on the discharge. So, I had a meeting (1/3) with Emma and Dr. Lemma to remove him per his wishes. They said he was doing better. They should have let me know if he was in bad shape.

After his roommate left Alaska Gardens, brother fell twice out of bed and died on 1/8/2025. The care staff does not care what you say. They did nothing to make his stay better, even the lead nurse Kevin was supposed to get him a CPAP machine and it never happen. Had to bring his machine in.

Social Worker Emma was the only one to get things done. The rest of the care staff ignore getting him a CPAP machine, Shave, Brush Teeth until I email Emma about the issue.

Overall: Issue was lack of care and Neglect from Alaska Gardens nurses and Dr Lemma. Mrs. Emma was the only one to help us get thing done. Since 1/13/24, no one has called to let us know what caused him to die. The nursing facility should have been helping him to get better.

Alaska Gardens did not care about my brother and did the bare minimum. There Neglect causes him to die. Also, since 1/9/25 we have not received any call from Alaska Gardens with condolences on my brother death.

ps: If you want a family member to die, send them there!!

Response on Google Review Was: **Response from the owner CAN Message to call the main Office, since they do not want to accept fault.

Hi there, I would like to get some more details about your experience with us. Please reach out to us at (253) 476-5300 so we may assist you in moving forward towards a resolution.

** How can there be a resolution, my brother is dead by neglect. Why would you want to talk to me, do want you normally do, Nothing!! Stop sending CAN response...

The CNAs are understaffed. There have been days when you call call button an gave to have to wait over hour before anyone will check on you . they don't allow you to see your PCP only theirs. They gave me release notice at last minute .so I am sent home to die no help in getting SPECIFICATIONS were met .for ramp or hospital bed in my home. They just blew me off. Their Dr should have sent off DME for bed an ramp but threw me under the bus an just sent me home now I'm held captive in a bed I can't get out of NO joke about sending me home to die I know I'm going to end up in hospital with pneumonia. Then have to make decision home or there. Or over Narrows .as last time I was sent home an 4 days later sent to hospital with pneumonia an after 1 wk sent back there for a little over a month.then fed BS an trusted them on help I DID NOT get .I let things go the first time I was discharged cause I thought I was well enough to go home HOWEVER this time I was NOT.NOW I am screwed an when you call to talk to staff they do NOT return your calls they kicked your out door as you signed release form as you have no choice I am very ANGRY AN HURT by the staff as I have read reviews an see many complaints so I can see I'm not the only 1 the day shift excellent swing shift has good an bad graveyard ..if you need briefs changed..ain't gonna happen btwn 9pmtil btwn 4 an 5 am.some of them good tho. Nurses were great too Day shift should be paid MORE as they do ALOT I seriously feel I could never return there the staff has broken my trust. If they tesT other patients like this.they need to be closed down as I am sent home to die. THANKS ALASKA GARDENS It it's too late we asked for help long ago got blown off. About ramp (had to.borrow money from father in law. We bagged for help for hospital bed. NOW IM BACK IN HOSPITAL WOTH LIQUID IN HEART LIQUID AROUND LUNG FRACTURE LEFT PELVIC AREA. My dad got moved here last night. There was a woman half way in a wheelchair in the hallway sleeping, that same woman was in the exact same spot when I came to see my dad the next day. The place is dirty, the floors in my dads room were not swept or mopped before he went in there. The hallways smell like urine. I have never met staff and nurses so rude before. It's hard enough on us knowing our loved ones are in there. The nurse raised his voice cause I told them my dad wants to leave and we want to do in home treatment. He said my dads insurance wont cover it so I called my dads insurance and they said of course his insurance does cover it. So I told the nurse that, he went on saying well he needs a dr to release him and that dr wont be in till next week???? Really! I was upset with how the nurses were so I went and talked to the director and unfortunately she was more harsh than the nurses. She yelled at me, stated if he tries to leave we have to call the police. Which I'm not sure why. My dad is there for infection in his leg, he doesnt need any therapy. All hes there for is 30 minute antibiotics once a day. He walks just fine. Actually he walked over to wapato park for a few hours and they didnt realize he was gone. There is no drinks and snacks at the nurses desk like stated, nobody explained anything to him when he got there, meal times, rules etc.... he didnt even see someone till the next day. Because he wants to leave, they set up a nurse station right outside his room. This is all very upsetting and I dont know what to do for my dad. I can say that the front part when you walk in is so nice and comforting. It smelled like apples and cinnamon, reception was really nice. If I could give this place zero...
