Lot of stands and things to see. However check your receipts or credit card charges that match what you paid for! I can’t believe this happens here but I got food from a stand and the final amount that I approved from their handheld device with my phone is different than the receipt online they sent me!
Well it seems they added a 20% “tip” charge after I approved my card for a different amount. Like wow, they should give tipping options on their device instead of charging afterward. People and I are more than happy to add tip and approved the amount. But there was no visible signs or any verbal communication of a 20% auto tip that will be added and won’t match what I approved and authorized on their pos system. It seems scammy for an employee with system rights to manually add tip AFTER my card was approved WITHOUT informing me. So unethical and fraudulent to do that to customers! I had to tell my friend to tell her friend to check her card charge from that vendor because she also bought from the same vendor. I have to wonder how many customers have been extra charged without being informed.
Customers should always be informed at the beginning if there are any auto gratuity verbally and/or in writing. Approved and authorized amounts should matched what customers approved and authorized. But it didn’t here! I am still shock I experienced this at a farmer market. Can’t always be too careful to double check when people have your card information and can change the charge amount...
Read moreOne thing I love about living in the PNW is all the farmer's market. You would think that living in the Midwest most of my life, this would be a common thing, but it's not. Farming in the Midwest is industrial, from meat production, to corn and beans. There are few truck farms left. It's been mostly a food dessert and you rely on Walmart.
Here, there are plenty of farmers markets with locally grown and produced foods. at the Proctor market you can get fruits now, and the raspberries are divine. We bought a pound of green beans and will be making beans, ham, and taters for supper. You can also find fresh eggs and goat cheese.
I would also recommend stopping by the Colvin Ranch stand and buying some organic, pasture raised beef as well as pork. They raise livestock the right way, on pasture. On grass. In the open air. Not in a confinement facility being fed nothing but grains and steroids. Years ago when I was in highschool in Illinois, we all pasture raised our cattle. I can't tell you how nice it is to see that done here.
Overall, great market to stop into. I highly...
Read moreThis was a fun place to visit. It was also next to more stores so you can spend a good part of the afternoon shopping and eating. The shoppes were cool and polite. I bought some hot sauce and some dip mixes. The only beef I have is that I went to a store right next to the market and they were selling the same dip mix that I just bought from the market. The store had them for cheaper, and the only reason I didn't go back and complain is becusse the tent allowed you to taste all the flavors before you buy them. That most likely made them cost more. Overall a good experience and fun to take...
