I was gifted some nice speakers so I called Rainier Audio a couple of weeks ago as I wanted to support a small local business instead of a national chain. They were very nice on the phone and even managed to get me a next day appointment, which was great, but it was downhill from there.
I arrived at the appointment time at 10:00am and no one was there. About 10:05 a truck came racing through the parking lot, and it happened to be the person I spoke with the day before. He apologized for being late and asked me to give him a couple of minutes to open; I told him no worries. 5 minutes later I walked in, and he was behind the counter without a mask. I was nervous about it, but did not want to assume the worst and figured maybe he forgot to put it on. He told me he would call when my car was ready.
I received a call a couple of hours later saying my car was ready but when I arrived they were still working on it. Additional people were now there, all without masks. Had I known that they did not want to follow state protocol regarding the mask mandate I never would have gone there, as I live with someone who has a severely weakened immunity system. I was charged $350 plus, which I thought was expensive but given the rave reviews here I assumed it would be worth it. When I got into my car, the right front speaker wasnāt hooked up properly, and I had to explain to two people what was wrong. Shoddy installation which was addressed but not fixed; I had provided speaker baffles to prevent rattling in the doors which they didnāt even install, and they kept or threw away the speaker covers that I brought in for the installation. When I called to ask about where were the covers I was told they assumed I wanted stock speaker covers, and they werenāt going to spend the time installing the new ones.
In my lifetime Iāve had at least ten car stereos installed in various vehicles and this is by far the worst installation of after market equipment that Iāve experienced. The front speakers rattle the doors when I barely turn up the volume of a song that has a lot of bass, and my setting are smack in the middle. I would be afraid to turn up the bass all the way as it rattles so badly with minimal volume. The lack of public safety precautions, combined with a complete lack of communication about what I should expect for $350 plus dollars and then not installing or returning the speaker covers was enough for me. I was going to buy a new head unit from them initially but now will seek out another vendor and get the speakers reinstalled properly. I really, really wanted to like them but I have nothing but regret in taking my car there. All around terrible...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI first spent many thousands at Car Toys and wasn't satisfied with the outcome. It felt like pulling teeth to get them to respond to what I was looking for and offer a real solution even though I was willing to spend more money. Over a year and a half later and multiple car toys I had talked to I called Rainier audio. At first they were reluctant to try and dabble in my system (I'm sure because people buy cheap parts and expect the world). They ended up calling me back after talking about what I had and said I had the ingredients for a great system and had me come in to see what's going on. When he took a listen he dialed into the exact problem with the sound that I came in for, and put it in better terms than I could've. I also wanted to change the sub setup. He said he would develop some options for me and gave me multiple price points to accomplish my goal after looking into my different options based on my concerns and desires and called me and explained them to me.
I finally picked up my car today and he explained how everything works and made sure I was happy, and I am ecstatic. He said once the new subs break in to bring it back with my list of ideas for tuning (which will be hard found) and he will hook me up with multiple presets on my DSP to change easily for different types of music.
Logan's customer service is a rare thing nowadays, his attention and focus is on point, his skill with my complex system was astounding and he seems to be a real genuine and good down to earth person.
Thanks for taking care of my headache of a situation! Hats off to...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreFirst off, I just want to start by saying Logan and his team at Rainier Audio are an amazing group of individuals. Time and time again these guys have earned my business just based off their customer service alone; but it goes a lot further than that. I have brought and recommended multiple friends and family members to Rainier Audio as well as purchasing equipment for multiple vehicles myself. Every time I walk into Rainier Audio I am greeted by Logan or one of his Technicians, I am horrible at describing things but even given a brief, horrible description of what Iām looking for, they always manage to set me up with a perfect set up based off even little information of what Iām working with or trying to achieve. Logan is a very knowledgeable yet humble business owner and auto accessory technician, he can get you equipment to take out the door for self install or have professionally installed by him and his techs. Rainier audio has competitive pricing across all accessory and can work with customers on nearly any budget to get them happy, whether it be as simple as replacing a pair of blown speakers with a set of mid-grade new coaxials or installing a full system with a sweet double din linked with apple car play, some new amps, a nice box, and a couple subs followed by a full remote start and security system. So to conclude this, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND Rainer Audio and I will continue to do business with Logan and support this local audio shop as much as my bank account will allow me. Keep up the...
