Richard Montez is the one that acted unprofessional. Not Murry. I had the wrong name, I looked his name up and found his picture.
Edited: The manager that replied is lying. I was never offered another mustang that was arriving soon! Let’s clarify that’s a lie…. Second Richard, should have NEVER AND I REPEAT NEVER have asked me to come in let alone go through the trouble of getting the financing and get approved to just turn around and say it was sold! WHO DOES BUSINESS LIKE THAT? Yet another lie to excuse the behavior or Richard Montez ( I apologize I had the wrong sales person)! Is this the way you conduct your business by deceiving your customers? Like I said, he had a week to let me know. Why make me drive all the way over there, get the financing? Again, lying about offering me another car! Please just stop with the petty replies. I had my son on the line the few hours I was there and it’s a shame you as the manager of the dealership Have to make things up to try to look good!
My original post: Richard Montez ( I found out it was not Murry and I apologize for that Richard Montez is the most sleazy, shady salesman I've ever met at any dealership I've ever been to. I've been in the Mustang family for over 19 years. I went to go purchase a Mustang for my Marine that is station overseas. First off, the price of the Mustang was overpriced by 3000.00 dollars. When I told Richard Montez this, he immediately became combative and said to me... too bad that's the price and I'm not negotiating and the price is not coming down. He said matter of fact, I have someone that is in another state interested in buying it. I said..whatever.. you don't need to go there and tell me that. It's a scare tactic. My son really wanted the car, so I was going to buy it no matter what. Being that my son is a Marine, we were going to go through Navy Federal for the financing. Richard wanted the financing to go through them and asked me to do it through them that I had 3 days to later go to Navy Federal. I said no, we are going through Navy Federal because we get a better rate since my son is in the Marines. Mid way through getting the loan establish with Navy Federal...I give him the thumbs up that it was done..he runs up to me and signal with his hands the no go.. and says.. too late I sold it to another person. My jaw dropped... he was smog about it, almost proud of it. He said.. I told you someone else was interested. My son, was disappointed and said just walk away mom. His behavior was extremely unprofessional. I had schedule this appointed a week in advanced. Even confirmed the appointment with him. One, I think he was upset that I called him out on the price, 2 the fact that we didn't use their financing. Shame on him for treating a US Navy Marine that is fighting for this country to protect a sleazy salesman like himself and to behave this way. There are no honest people left in this world, everyone is trying to make a quick buck and shame on Richard Montez. He lied and didn't sell the Mustang, is still there. His pride got in the way of the sale. Richard Montez, you are a first class human being.
South Tacoma Auto (Owner) 4 minutes ago Ruth, We appreciate your feedback and regret your frustration. To clarify, Murry is not a Salesperson but our Internet Department Representative, and you never met with him. You were also informed multiple times before visiting that the 2012 Grabber Blue Ford Mustang was pending sale. Additionally, we let you know about a comparable Mustang arriving soon (pending safety inspection), but you declined interest. Regarding pricing, we use TrueCar, VAuto, CarGurus, and Carfax (price comparison tools) to ensure our prices are competitive and fair for all customers. As for financing, we respect your choice of lender, but another buyer completed the purchase before yours was finalized. If you're still looking for a Mustang, check our website as a comparable Ford Mustang in Grabber Blue will be up soon. New inventory arrives daily at SouthTacomaAuto.

Read moreCame to this dealership for a specific car I found online. While I didn't choose the vehicle I came for salesman Charles Green showed my a hyundai with low miles and worked to get the payment to fit my budget. He wasn't pushy and offered his opinion with no pressure. I was pre-qualified from my bank and after taking his advice to let their financing department take a look he was able to get me a better deal. They even gave me a little trade in value for my Subaru that had a blown head gasket.
I was then handed off to another person to complete the paperwork. I did find him extremely pushy as he tried to extend my payments from 60 months to 84 months when trying to sell me on a three year extended warranty to make my payments fit. (That would have left me paying for an expired warranty for 4 years) Also pushed service agreement, gps tracking, gap insurance, and tire insurance. He looked visibly annoyed when I chose no add ons and called me foolish for not wanting their gps tracking service. I wasn't thrilled about the $400 manditory disinfecting charge that I was told was mandatory for all vehicle sales.
The cars all come with a three day return window so I decided to have it checked by a dealership. I was informed there that the car needed brakes and a few other things so I contacted Charles. He was quick to respond and partnered me with Tony from the maintenence department. He told me to bring the car in and let them take a look and that they would fix any issues that were found. He introduced me to the mechanic checking my car and walked me through there checks, even bringing me through the garage to see them measure the brakes on my vehicle. They were respectful and showed me that the third party inspection was if fact inaccurate. After an hour I left with piece of mind that I got a quality car at a fair price. Pushy add ons aside I would definitely recommend this place. They seem like really good honest people and have an actual mechanics garage to inspect and fix any issues with their vehicles. I have been burned by used car lots in the past but this place has a large friendly staff, great service, follow up, and affordable vehicles. I give this place 4 stars. Would definitely be 5, but I don't like to be called foolish when trying to stay within my budget. Shout out to Charles, Tony, and the...
