100% will always recommend this incredibly fresh and tasty deli! Melon Seed to me is a small business that truly caters to their local community, foodies, and all types of people. Every single order is made with care and it’s always worth the wait. My boyfriend and I come to this deli every time we are in the area. Their duo slider deal is amazing since we don’t get to visit often, it allows us to combine two different sandwich options into one meal. And their froyo desserts are always beautifully made with a generous amount of toppings and various sizes from kids, small, medium, large, or even a pineapple?!

The owners are very hard workers. Always friendly, accommodating, and accurate. My visit this evening is the reason I wanted to write a review. Normally, it’s just the owners I see running the deli. Tonight it looked like they had a trainee. The trainee looked relaxed, yet really eager to be there and learning, the owners were patient and took time to explain how things were done and why. Having a career in food service myself, watching the whole interaction, and just the whole experience... something resonated in me and made me want to leave more than a $10+ tip. This place truly deserves recognition for everything they do. From customer service, to fresh ingredients, tasty menu options, leadership, atmosphere. This small place in the heart of my community is a true gem of a deli that people should know about and experience.

I see a lot of reviews of people complaining that they choose to drive forever to come eat at this location and it was closed....do you not have enough sense to call before ? because they cant update their hours on google every time something comes up, remember this is a locally owned business they have families that have emergency's too... On top of that of course if a business goes TikTok viral they are going to have long wait lines I think its atrocious that you would leave a negative review because they are doing well and have a long line. I wanted to visit when I saw this place on TikTok but I am super pregnant and wasn't able to facilitate the commute. Today I had a business meeting and figured I might as well have my meeting there and give it a try! I will say yes the wait for the food is the same as a restaurant BUT that is because each and every food item ordered is crafted individually by hand and fresh. If you wanted fast food go to McDonalds. I came in and had a order of the chili and some garlic bread :) super tasty! I also had a order of the stuffed strawberries for the road! Again a winner! I love that the menu has inclusive diet options I love the variety of choices they offer as well as the staff just going above and beyond on the customer service! Also seeing the business owner knuckles deep in food making and engaging with the customers some of whom you can tell come in regularly speaks volumes about the quality of the service! 10/10 will be coming back with...

Melon Seed to hold a special place in my heart, I don’t get to go as often since I don’t live in Tacoma anymore… but I am states away right now thinking about the tenderoni sliders, the froyo, and the smiles of the business owners the second you walk in. When you find a place like this, you feel torn - do I share it with the world? Or do I keep this hidden gem all to myself? The reality is, when you find people like this, quality like this, and purpose rooted into the community… the last thing you should ever do is keep it a secret. I’ve been going to melon seed for roughly 10 years, I’d guess I’ve brought 20+ people to experience the ✨magic✨ that is melon seed today. It had been over a year as I moved out of Tacoma, and just like it was yesterday - they remembered my order, checked in on some of my hardships - and connected with me like a human. Some of these pictures span years of my visits, to show whoever reads this that what they have here is special, I hope whoever reads this tries the tenderoni with all the veggies added and don’t let the parking lot confuse you.
