We had ordered a wedding cake August 16th, it was the french vanilla and red velvet cake. When we tried it, it was burnt on the outside and very dry on the inside. We had called the owner to see if we could get a full refund on the cake since it was for a wedding and had cost $400 and another $20 for delivery. The owner argued with us saying that we had signed a contract that said that we can't get a refund if it doesn't taste good, but it wasn't the way it tasted it was the fact that it had been burnt. We even offered to bring it over to her for her to taste so she would understand but she kept repeating that we signed a contract and that she uses the same recipe for all of her cakes. It had not been about the recipe nor the flavor but the fact that she had burned it. She had only offered to give us 20% of the price back, which we felt was extremely unfair considering that she had burnt a wedding cake. She had also said that if it were her receiving the burnt cake she would have been grateful to get 20% back rather than nothing at all. Which we felt was rude and inconsiderate since it was for a wedding and it's a special day. She also tried to shame us for writing this review since she said we were slandering a small business woman when in fact, we aren't slandering, slander is a false accusation this is not a false accusation. She was extremely unprofessional and rude with trying to deal with us, an upset customer. If you want a cake from her and it ends up being burnt don't expect to get a full refund back. She will just argue and try to shame you for telling her that her...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThere is not enough I can say about Brianne and her Spilled Butter Desserts. I have ordered from her this past Thanksgiving, Christmas and have an order placed for a birthday in March. Brianne's communication is amazing. Not only is she prompt, and helps guide you through any questions and selection, but she is amazingly gracious about it. Picking up the desserts was very easy, with streetwise parking and easy access to the bakery. And..if you haven't been there, just go visit and enjoy the tantalizing aromas. I do need to say the cost is also very, very good. I was pleasantly surprised. Certainly a bakery for people of all income levels. I have ordered 2 cakes, and 2 pies (another cake and pie on order for March.) I also impulsively picked up a dozen scones. I don't think i can do justice to her desserts. They were all so fresh, so flavorful, so moist and a true hit with even the pickiest in my family. When I asked what the favorite dessert has been, the 14 family members I've hosted at both holidays could not narrow it down. Not only that, they have asked that I continue to work my way through menu (check out holiday selections, too.) Brianne, I hope you continue to bake for a very long time, as you are truly a part of our celebrations now. Thank you for sharing your talent...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreAfter trying several of their baked goods at local coffeeshops in Tacoma area, I discovered an opportunity from social media that they were having a pop up at their own brick and mortar baking kitchen, with collab with local coffee, Civic Roasters, a few months back. I know they do not have regular open hours for just walk in purchase, but rather, they're custom order type business, but I have yet to place any custom orders so I cannot speak to that experience. What made me write this review is how accurate the owner (Brianne) described cake and desserts in the description and the baked goods taste matched 200% of the description. The pistachio cake was out of the world, so was the whoopie pie!!! I've tried their baked goods from pop tarts to cookies to housemade Twinkie and the creation and taste are unmatched. Single serve baked goods were more on pricier side, but well worth every bite. I would definitely order custom baked goods from here, knowing the quality and taste of products from...
