I’m a small business owner, as such I hold my integrity above all else. My business has generated close to $10,000 dollar in sales revenue for the “Floor and Decor” Tampa location.
My experience had always been pleasant with all the Pro-sales associates. Up until the day my integrity was questioned and I was treated like a criminal by the store Manager “Bruce” and one other store associate.
To give you an idea of how high I hold my integrity. I retuned close to $2,000 worth of Durock concrete boards to the location even though their delivery system still showed said materials were still due to be delivered... A mistake nonetheless, Bruce and Julia a pro-sales associate were very great full and praised my integrity for having returned the supplies even though their inventory system showed the supplies were still owed to me.
Fast-Forward a couple of weeks, I am back at the store returning some leftover supplies. Their employee scans all my items and gives me a receipt with the refund that is owed to me. A week later I receive a call from a store associate stating that their employee has made a mistake and refunded me about $400 in excess. She asks that I return to the store and pay back that sump of money. However, I clearly saw how all the supplies are scanned and the refund in my understanding is correct. After I question the correctness of my receipt, that clearly shows the supplies I returned. She threatens to have their legal team involved and states that they have me on cámara returning the supplies.
I obviously refute that I have done anything wrong, let alone illegal.
Later on, the store manager “Bruce” calls. In a very condescending tone he threatens to have me blacklisted from all “Floor and Decor locations” he states he will make sure I cannot due business with any of the floor and decor locations.
Let me ask you this? I am expected to without question accept that I owe them money for supplies that I returned, supplies that were scanned in front of me. Even when I have first had witnessed the error prone inventory system which they operate.
Well, I wrote this from the tampa location parking lot as I was told by Pro-Sales associate Julia that her manager had refused to sell me supplies. I was prepared to purchase close to $2,000 worth of materials for a job site today. But apparently my business is no longer welcomed.
Apparently, I am responsible for training your employees. Had this been handled differently I believe it would have had a different outcome. However, I was threatened from the first call and accused of being a criminal.
I am not a criminal, I am a small business owner trying to make an honest living. I don’t expect an apology and I will wait for whatever legal measures they plan to take. But I have recorded all evidence of how I was treated and I still have the receipt which demonstrates that my refund was correct.
You’ve lost my business. But frankly I feel that this blacklisting is more out of spite from the store manager Bruce, as Julia still treated me very cordially today and I thank...
Read moreMy worst Father's day (6/18/17) with the terrible customer service at this store. No wonder why so many customers complained about it. I am a father of two full grown and married children. It was my first visit at this store in the morning to buy a few samples of tiles for my kitchen backsplash project. So, my wife and I picked up the 5 tiles with different colors as samples and put them on the casher's desk to pay. The skinny associate girl (I have nothing against being skinny, But I do not know her name and that is all I remember her) did not even say hi, smile and did not even flip them over looking for any barcode stickers. She said with the cranky face that she could not ring them up because she could not see any barcodes on them. Then she asked me to go to check them out. I was feeling like my boss ordered me the job to do. Anyway, I went back and took the photos of all the barcode stickers on the 5 tiles, and came back to the desk to find out other female associate working at the casher's desk. Not like other skinny girl, she was very nice, right away found the barcode stickers on the back of the 4 of the 5 tiles, and finished up ringing them up in a few seconds. So, I realized I did not have to take the photos of all 5 stickers If the skinny associate carefully looked for the barcodes on the tiles before she sent me back. Also, I was just wondering if trying to find the barcodes on the tiles was my job or her job even though I did it because she ordered me to do. In the afternoon I came back to the store to return the 4 tiles after we decided to keep one tile as a sample which we liked most, hoping the skinny girl was not there. When I was waiting at the return area with a big returns sign, oh no! the skinny girl was coming and asked me again to bring the heavy tiles to the her casher's desk rather than her coming to the returning desk. she did not even say hi or smile again. And, she asked me which tile I left at home when I gave her the receipt. But, I did not know the item number even though I knew how it looks. she started with the cranky face to put all the informations from the receipt ignoring my efforts even though I flipped them over trying to show her the barcodes on the back of the tiles even three times. I am just wondering why she works there if she does not seem to like her job and does not know how to serve the customers. Either she may need more training about the customer service or have to move on to other job she like better, for herself and the poor other customers. I thank other female associate and the store manager who were nice and quickly tried to address the matter. It was the most terrible father's day.
I’ve shopped the Floor & Decor store on N. Dale Mabry many times over the past several years. I’ve always been impressed by their wide array of products and helpful staff.
My latest experience (last night) is, in my opinion, quite noteworthy...so much so that I’m posting my first Google review of any type.
Approaching the tail end of a major addition to our home and in preparation for my 5-year-old twins birthday party in a couple days, I was hopeful to get out of the house a hefty amount of tile and associated items that went unused as the project unfolded.
But it was 8:30 at night and I was five miles from the store!
I showed up at the F&D doorstep a few minutes after closing (at 9PM). Having a cart brimming with tile and other miscellany, I was sure I was going to get turned away by staff wishing to close shop for the night.
Not so.
Instead, I was greeted at the front door by a smiling staff member (Michael) who, without a moment’s hesitation, stated “I’ll take you at register two”. (I later learned that Michael was the store manager; kudos to the uppers at F&D for recognizing talent).
This guy was amazing. He and his coworker, Ana, didn’t even flinch when I pulled out a wad of old receipts the size of a bread loaf. They had everything sorted and organized in minutes all the while carrying on a pleasant conversation about my project. And no issues with the returns.
In a nutshell, I was anticipating obstacles, barriers and “Oh-no’s”. Instead I got Michael, Ana, Drew and Ryan! I couldn’t have asked for a better experience and group of associates.
On the way out the door just 20 minutes after having arrived I grabbed a business card and noted what appeared to be a mission statement: “We strive to go above & beyond for our customers every day”
No arguments from me!
I’ll be a lifer at Floor &...
