I am not one to write bad reviews, but this GameStop is the worst of them all when Jason is there. He clearly treats certain customers much better than others. We used to go to this location on a weekly basis and now I will walk in and walk out if I see him there. He is unkind and disrespectful towards Black and some Brown customers. I have seen him go above and beyond for customers, many who had no receipt, yet when we went to return a headset within the first 30 days (warranty purchased, box in mint condition) he would not help us without a receipt… Yet the other store employee could see the purchase on our GameStop account. What a joke! We spend hundreds here and have fallen for the warranty gimmick, just or be turned away with original product, box with warranty sticker, and the purchase showing in the account. This mistreat did not end here. My best friend went in today with the same concern and Jason not only tried to ignore him, but he also refused to help him acting aggressively saying his 10 or so years there makes him better than the customer. It is clear Jason is prejudice and willing to help some customers and not others. It’s sad because we now have to drive further to a different location so that we don’t have to deal with that horrible “manager”. I hope something is done. I caution anyone who is interested in a good customer experience. There are better locations and for warranty issues or purchasing items that you want a warranty on, definitely go elsewhere. Or try Amazon or Target, because at least they actually track and make use of the data they collect...
Read moreNintendo Switch 2 pre-order and launch days were poorly handled with mismanaged expectations.
Lines for both events were unnecessarily over an hour long, as everyone had to get a pitch for their pro membership, adding 2-5 minutes per person. Despite being in the fancy pre-order line, those without one were serviced much quicker. I was told I could pop right in, cut the line and just pick it up, having already paid for it— lies.
And short, one of the employees, Cody, was unable to find my GameStop account because he kept entering in my phone number and email incorrectly and had to have the manager help them. Then he tried to make small talk with me while the manager tried asking me questions.
After waiting over an hour, almost cross the finish line, I was asked to step aside while others were serviced behind me, as someone had accidentally already scanned my switch, requiring me to “return” my switch (which required scanning my drivers license) so I could rebuy it properly, adding another 10 minutes to the whole process. This does not include all the time they spent asking me if I wanted every accessory, protection plan, games, or pre-order a game.
To top it all off, they said there would be food trucks there, but the manager sent them to the wrong GameStop location.
It would take another console launch to give me to return to this location or any...
Read moreBald middle aged guy is by far one of the least appreciable retail employees I've ever seen. Walked in to check out their used section around 1:15pm. I was the only customer in the store. He didn't acknowledge me at all.
He also had some random January 6th trial playing on his personal phone. It was loud enough that it emanated through the store. I don't care which way you lean, this isn't the environment to blast that type of thing. Videogames are supposed to be an escape.
I witnessed another customer come in about 5 minutes after looking for an online order he had placed the day before. At this point I had made my way around the store, so I was next to the entrance. The customer went up to the counter right in front of the employee, and was still not even greeted. The customer had to engage first. When the customer asked about his order, the employee immediately just said "No, we don't have your order." In the end, the customer had gone to the wrong location. This doesn't excuse the lack of customer service. Does this guy have any tact?
I promptly left. The locations on 40th west and close to Valley Fair are close enough to not have to deal with this place. Do yourself a favor...
