As a Google local guide I try to keep a realistic expectation of service when it comes to visiting places, as I know my reviews have the potential to impact many people. I usually keep them short and sweet as well.
With that in mind, this review is lengthy, and is meant more for the management staff of this location. I hope they see it.
I had a terrible experience at this particular Starbucks location. Things that ruined the experience for me. The barista, AJ, was not friendly. She looked and acted as though I was doing a disservice to her by being there. 20 minute wait for one beverage (inside, not in the drive-through.) Barista appeared disinterested and put no effort into multitasking or trying to hustle and take care of customers. It was painful to watch. The other 4 guests in front of me suffered the same 20+ minute wait. Barista forgot my order because she didn't print the order sticker. As a result, she asked me 3 times to repeat my order over the counter during my wait. Another customer actually whispered to me "how embarrassing, I know your order and don't even work here." :( Barista, showing pure laziness, blended my drink in the dairy container instead of the non-dairy container even though I ordered a non-dairy drink. (I have an allergy to dairy, but fortunately not bad enough for that minor act of laziness to trigger it.) For others though, this is concerning. Barista never once apologized for the wait or made any kind of effort to acknowledge the poor service / situation. Perhaps least important, but something I noticed, is that there was no music playing. Starbucks always has some kind of music on. It felt like a total morgue in there.
Things I enjoyed about my service: Leaving Finally having a good coffee
Considerations: The drive-thru seemed to move quickly and without error, so the other barista on drive-thru was doing just fine. I suppose this means, as a whole, AJ simply offered a poor experience to dine-in customers. Maybe she was new, maybe she was having a bad day, or maybe there is some other valid reason. I'm not sure - but as a result, I cannot recommend this location and it will be a long time before I visit again. Bummer, because I hate having to...
Read moreI visit Starbucks in general very frequently like 3-6 times a week. Almost ALWAYS use the app to order ahead, I usually go to the one closer to my home, they know me and what I order and how i like it. I have however visited this location quite a few times, when I'm closer to this 1. Honestly i feel as though it is hit & miss with this location. My most recent visit I was like I'm going to go inside to order and explain what i would like, they had it done quite quickly despite the drive through always being PACKED. When i see it, i think to myself this looks like dark caramel and i had asked to substitute dark caramel for regular. (Which they do charge for) I go to my car and debate for a minute whether I should say something or not, i HATE confrontations, altercations, and/or making people feel bad or me being an inconvenience. I ultimately decided to go back in. I politely ask the worker that prepared it if it was in fact dark caramel and she says"no, um, no, i mean yes, yes it is" i apologized a few times and say oh ya I actually wanted it substituted for regular and it says it on the sticker and she goes mhhm, so i hand her my drink and she informs me she can't take it back so just give her the sticker with the order details and to throw the frappe away in the trash behind me( I'm guessing they have quite a few incidents where ppl say it's wrong but still want the messed up one also, and they don't like to let them??) I say oh, ok. No problem. However She did seem frustrated, turned to her coworker and said would u make this drink, the co worker agreed, grabbed my sticker and made it. But the barista now making it also seems a bit bothered and i watched her make it and it didn't seem made right either, She hands it me, i apologize AGAIN and say thank you. I taste it and it doesn't taste right but at this point I just don't want to deal with another interaction with them so ultimately i just tell my dad he...
Read moreThis has always been hit and miss. The fist thing in the morning staff they are remarkable and not to mention great tasting decaf mocha. I've had a few times the wrong drink to only have to tune around and wait in line again. Or the line is horrendous. I've been to other city's, and double the people ordering food and drinks and never had to wait as long as I do at this one. Another thing, this is just a suggestion; you would think when one has gone to the same establishment for over four years and they hand you a wrong drink that they would give you a free drink voucher. This is where the Starbucks on 2100 S and state has my back. Not only would they do a free voucher for a wrong drink, but whenI lived in that area they would give a free drink every once in awhile just for being a loyal customer. How awesome is that? I miss that. Customer service isn't what it use to be. As a matter of fact the "customer is always right" line has left the building years ago. How do I miss that in all establishments. But then again the customers aren't what they use to be either, respecting the person behind the counter. Where do people get off thinking of treating anyone that is serving you is lower class then you. Everyone should be grateful that your being served. I know I couldn't do their job. I would so get fired in the first day for punching someone in the head. The moral of my review. It takes two to have an establishment. If customers could have a little more compassion perhaps we could get our free drinks every once in awhile. And thank you 2100 S. For recognizing that. Great morning coffe and staff here. Hit and miss...
