Worst customer service, worst in greed, in caring, in ability to listen before starting your rant, ohâŚand they have no issues with straight up in my face, we both know that itâs a lie, lie! Who does that?? This business shouldnât be allowed to operate. I mean, geez, if they listened to my complete statement before going crazy mad at meâŚnone of this would be here, lol. But now it seems clear they must be selling a lot of bad stuff and getting a lot of calls to get money back.. in my case, I was just calling to give a heads up. But this experience scared me. This isnât about pricing, or inventory, or qualityâŚno business should be allowed to operate THIS bad! I got attacked verbally, blamed immediately, and was told it was impossible that they were in the wrong! Ummm, I was calling to just let them know I do thousands of discs with my normal supplier, and I get back less than 2% ganes still bad or worse. Thats over 5,000 discs in total so far. So when I got all of my 28 games back, all were bad, and 4 got worse somehow?? Oh well, itâs no worries for me, but what about people that just have 20-30 total? Not to mention the clerk made a mention in form of a light hearted statement that their machine hasnât been 100%, I believe she said âeating discsâ. But everyone knows itâs not guaranteed, and the 28 discs I brought in had very little meaning or value. So I was calling to have what I thought would be a quick thing where I let them know out if 5,000 discs so far, less than 1% come back âbadâ. All 28 discs I got back, were âbad -âworseââŚthatâs 100% so I thought they would want to know..right? Before I could finish what I was saying, I was yelled at, told it was entirely my fault, and other normal bully type tactics. Now, Iâm in customer service for very, very large businesses, itâs vitally important. Especially when all of the graywhale stores in the world, are down to 1⌠this type of worse of the worse behavior and business model approach needs to be gone, down to 0. I have the call recorded, I never ask or hint at a refund, nothing even close! Just thought a friendly heads up to them would be cool. But to see them react, faster than faster, and obviously without even knowing anything if the situation, they fired and lashed out so fast, I assumed they must just get so many people unhappy so maybe thatâs why they were used to it. The manager was the worst, and said two insane lies, both covered them againstâŚI donât even know what kind of issues could make them so horrible. My order total was just over $40, who cares? Everyone knows itâs a used store, no guarantees. So is it they are selling so much bad stuff and so many calls to return⌠or they are just horrible, lol. Who cares. Then I saw they are clearly using bots and PAID people, to leave reviews! And on Google even! How bad is your business that you also have to pay to try to cover up the small amount of people that leave reviews. If you look at the 5 star general worded reviewsâŚmany mainly just do I type of thing. The first two I. Top, the first one reviews hotels only, and like, all over. Plus one 5 star glowing for graywhale?? lol. They are all like that. So it became too much, and I thought I should at least try to warn others, and maybe even help keep business away from this horrible place. Iâve never, ever seen any worse. And thatâs over 40 years worth. Hey graywhale. If youâre listening (lol, thereâs no way, they clearly care more about trying to hide it with fake good, rather than try to be better overall), hey I was just calling about a heads up. If my tone came out wrong or somethingâŚIâm sorryâŚno, never mind! Listen to everything first! Thats the absolute barest least you can do to technically have customer service. So to be clear, I asked for nothing, I wanted nothing. And I think they must get so many bad calls about the bad items they sellâŚ? Idk, I honestly canât think of anything else that makes any sense. But these people are the worat of the worst. Please just stay away and let these kind of people to find...
Read moreToday was a somber day as I have picked up my last record ever from Graywhale Entertainment. My relationship with Graywhale started in 89/90 at the Taylorsville store. I was 15 and had just started a job at Central Park, which was not far from the T-Ville store. I remember going to cash my check at the grocery store and thinking I would just stop in and see what was new. Now, my paycheck was a whopping $50 and that was a lot of money for me at the time. From the second I opened the door I felt like a member of the Graywhale family. I was instantly treated like not just a customer but a kind of music student for the people that worked there to impart their vast knowledge upon. The owner came out and said hi, told me I was welcome anytime and never treated me like the punk 14 year old that I was. They would often give me advice on what to pick up as they began to commit to memory the type of music I would purchase. This continued almost weekly for about a decade. I bet in that time I spent close to $50,000 on music at Graywhale. In my late 20âs my spending on music had slowed down some, though never completely stopped. I was married and started a family so music became less of a priority. I need to backup and say that I purchased a membership way early on, maybe 1989 or 1990, a few visits after the first. When I purchased the membership, which was a paper slip, the promo they gave me was in essence they would discount the item the amount of sales tax. The tax was still getting paid, the item was just discounted the tax amount. This was supposed to be a lifetime discount as the membership was a lifetime membership (one of the reasons I bought the membership!)
Fast forward to last week...
I was in the area so I thought I would stop in and see what kind of used stuff they had come in. Due to COVID it had been a couple of months since I had been into the store. It wasnât busy at all and I didnât see the people I was used to but I picked a few items and went to pay. The cashier rang everything up and looked like he was struggling with something so I asked him if everything was good. He said when he pulled up my membership it showed that taxes werenât being taken out. I explained to him the situation, as I had done several times to other employees and managers throughout the years. I had never had an issue with anyone about this before. They would just say well I guess we need to honor it. Thatâs when jerky boy, who I assume to be the manager, stepped over and said âWe will not honor this ever againâ, âitâs a wonder weâre still in businessâ and âthatâs against the lawâ. He preceded to treat me like an idiot and condescend me for another few minutes as they were finishing up the transaction.
If I hadnât prepaid for a record that wasnât available until the next day I wouldâve never gone back.
So, with all that I am saddened that my time with Graywhale is over. However, now I donât have to overpay for...
Read moreOnly putting 5 stars cause it is a great shop I like to go to & the guy I talked to at the counter with about System of a Down was really dope.
BUT, yesterday the small blonde pixie cut looking girl with big baggy pants gave me the weirdest experience & I left feeling shook by it tbh.
Apparently there is a scavenger hunt thing yall do every once in awhile but there was a paper saying I wonât tickets to Hozier last night. It was hidden in the vinyl that I went in there specifically to get. It was the only cranberries star album left. She asked me at the register even tho a young man was checking it out for me. She piped in with âdid you pick this one specifically?â I was confused by the question. I said I had went in there to find the specific album? Then she explained it had tickets for the show tonight I had won so I told them nah Iâm working so save it for someone else who would want to go. My friend was FaceTiming me at the time & when she realized what had happened I was already leaving & then she said you won tickets to Hozier?! Omg go get them I would love to go! So I thought yah, I just won them. Theyâll be cool with this. My friend also has already had an account with Graywhale. She wants to go. Sheâs a customer herself. It was only a few hours before the show would start that I found them. She told me no because I personally wasnât going & Iâm âruining the scavenger huntâ like nooooo girl you just ruined the scavenger hunt. AND I have a HUGE hunch that she was actually hoping no one would find it & that SHE could take the tickets.
I just would make sure that this isnât whatâs happening that an employee tries to keep the tickets from leaving before the shift ends so they can have them for themselves.
I thought winning something meant you get to do what you want with them. Whether thatâs using them, selling them, giving them away to a friend on her BIRTHDAY..
Just a very weird situation to have won something cool & then having it taken away. Weirdo energy on her part. Something to look into if you ask me.. left a bad a taste...
