I really tried to like this place. It is close to home and they have the menu that I would want. I love mariscos(seafood)! I love south american seafood! Out of all the places I have purchased a ceviche this one is second from the bottom of the list. The flavor was right and I love the avocado that came with it. I didn't love the $25 meal for one person. I also didn't love that I had maybe 8-10 shrimps total in my ceviche. I thought I would give them the benefit of the doubt and be more specific for a second visit on how much shrimp I wanted, and ask for more vegetables in the ceviche. I got more vegetables yet the server was going to add more price for more shrimp to an already outrageously priced ceviche(the server informed me that they count out eight shrimp for the ceviche by policy). They forgot the avocados on the second visit and a beer was almost $10. I am not ever going to go back to this restaurant. Like I said I really tried to like this place I love supporting local and love mariscos but I can't support a place that over charges and doesn't perform. If the price matched the meal and the service I would concede, but the service is mediocre at best, and the food although tasty does not match the...
Read moreIt sucks being white in Utah if you are not apart of the local white culture. I never got the joke about white people not seasoning food right until I moved to Utah; my family was military and definitely into spicy and salt. The menu here is in Spanish and English, with Spanish first which was a good sign. The food is well cooked but lacking in spice; If you don't prove yourself. I have dined alone and needed to add flavor from their nice selection of table sauces. But I have also dined with my father who asked for an off menu item that is inherently spicy and noticed the menu based items ordered were more spicy (and tastier) than previous visits. Sadly, this "lack of spicy" has extended to other restaurants where unfortunately as a pale person in Utah; I not only have to ask for spicy sides, but reassure the restaurant that , yes I know it is spicy. The food here is good and well cooked, but if you want the flavor as intended, use the...
Read moreWe’ve been here about 10 times in the last 2 years. Today we noticed our bill to be higher than usual and with one less person. They always and only ever gave us a credit card receipt, the total on the CC receipt was $112, we tipped $25. I asked for an itemized receipt, And sure enough they were additional charges, extra avocado, even though the dish comes with avocado, and worst of all they had already added a 15% tip. So our bill was only $90 but the waitress took it upon herself to add a $15 tip and made it look like it was part of the bill. $35 tip to serve two adults and two children, definitely wasn’t worth it. Service wasn’t the best, didn’t even offer an extra help and never refilled our waters, and lately they’ve skimped on their shrimp in their soups, $18 for a quesadilla is total bill**! I am upset that all the times we’ve been in they have double pocketed in tips. WILL NEVER RETURN HERE DUE TO THEIR...
