Order: Drunken noodles with beef Price: $13 Pros: The beef was full of flavor (but I mean its Wyoming so I would hope so), you got A LOT of food, good flavor and spice to the noodles Cons: Not very much seating, the menu you got at the table definitely wasn’t the “full” menu (there were things pictured on the walls that you could order, but that weren’t on the menu), the decor was…interesting
Thoughts: If I had to choose one word to describe Bangkok Ty I think I would go with surprising. Not surprising in a bad way, surprising in a way, there is seriously a good Thai restaurant in Wyoming?" Kind of way. It is honestly surprising for several reasons, the first of which is that I really don't think you expect to find good Thai in the middle of a small town in Wyoming. Then, you probably don't expect it to be good, which it was, really good. Once you get past that the decor is also very surprising, it seems like they decided to wallpaper a majority of the restaurant with different pictures of food from their menu, not like a normal pictures behind the counter at a food restaurant so you can order off of them, as if they turned the walls of the building into a menu. Because there are definitely things on the walls that you can order that are not on the menu you're given.
Once you may have passed the surprise factor, the food is actually very good I ordered the drunken noodles, and it was some of the best drunken noodles, with beef because that's what you do in Wyoming, that I've had in a very long time. I was able to sample several different dishes that were ordered at the table and all of them were very good, with one recurring exception. Anything that was fried, like potstickers or spring rolls, work over the fry. Definitely a little overcooked and A little to oily for my tastes.
Overall an incredibly good Thai restaurant, regardless of where it was located. I would definitely go back if I was in the area, which I probably will be again, and counted it as one of the good surprises...
Read moreThis place is an absolute must if you're staying in or passing through Thermopolis. Make the time to go here, because you won't be disappointed. Unfortunately, with a party of only two, we weren't able to sample every dish, but what we did try was absolutely fantastic. The red and green curries were both wonderful, each with a complex and distinct flavor, packed with perfectly cooked veggies and soft and chewy tofu (you can also have meat, but tofu was our mood of the day - and it's the puffy kind, not the fresh kind, which, as fans of vegetarian eats will know, is almost always the best for Thai curry). The tom yum, though, was a revelation. Neither of us had ever tasted such a layered, flavorful, balanced tom yum before, at least not anywhere nearby. It was the kind of soup that makes you feel like you're becoming healthier with every sip. Definitely get this one along with whatever else you're having, even if you have to doggy bag it home.
If this sounds like an exaggeration, check it out yourself. It was absolutely great and my only regret is that our meagre human stomachs could only hold one lunch each.
Service was very nice, attentive and clear, and a very...
Read moreWhat a delightful find! All the dishes my family had were superbly made and flavored. I haven’t tasted Thai food that good ever I don’t think and I lived in Los Angeles for 15 years and regularly ate at Thai restaurants there!. And they’re really nice, they even sent home a dessert with us since we were so excited about their food.
My parents shared Pad Thai, so delicately cooked and flavor popped on everything. I had vegetable yellow curry which was quite tasty and a lot of variety in the veggies. My daughter got the orange chicken and it was amazing - beautifully breaded and glazed at the same time with more sauce in the bottom served with a good amount of veggies too!
I rated highly on the atmosphere because it’s so authentic asian little restaurant decor, lots of color and many little things to look at everywhere. So don’t expect haute-couture, expect fun little restaurant vibes.
If you love Asian snacks there’s also a little mini store. Don’t miss...
