Horrible! I eat a lot of steak, and I eat at nice steakhouses around the American West. For the sake of credentials, I am 50 years old and 50 lb overweight, in large part due to being a connoisseur of steak and beer. Lol
I ordered a medium rare ribeye with a baked potato and a porter, and an additional salad to start. The in-house porter was meh, but okay.
The steak came and when I put the first bite in my mouth, I was surprised that it was about room temperature. I was surprised about how chewy it was, and then I saw that the heat had not reached more than an eighth inch into either side. I always worry about having my food spit on if I send it back, but for the first time in my life, I nicely ask the server to send it back and asked that it be put on the grill for a few more minutes to be brought up to a medium rare. She was very sweet.
She brought the steak back, I am not sure if they put it back on the grill or not, but it was still undisputedly rare, I tried cutting into another side of the steak, and another side, and after the last side, realized that the steak was definitely not yet cooked. I did not eat another bite, bringing my total steak swallowed up to about half an ounce of the 16 oz steak. The undercooked baked potato was edible though, and I was hungry, so I enjoyed it as I had enjoyed the salad before it.
I gave my server my credit card and she took my plate, evidently not even noticing that 98% of the steak was still on the plate. She rang me up, full price for the meal including the additional salad and beer. She apologized again for the problem with the steak. Because I am not "that guy" I never dispute charges.
What should have happened? If the manager had not already empowered servers to make sure that customers were happy "no matter what," the server should have told the manager that the steak was improperly cooked, and upon send-back, it was again improperly cooked, and the manager should have come over and apologized and told me that there would not be any charge for the visit that day. (I didn't even get an offer of a free dessert with $1.50 food cost.)
There is apparently not a good manager at the restaurant. If there was, the front end would know how to deal with bad food and making customers happy, and would have provided training about how to be forward thinking and empathetic and to take the initiative to fix anything that might be a potential problem. A manager would have also trained anyone who is responsible for cooking food how to cook it. I assume the person cooking was cooking a steak for the first time, and I love that they gave it a try, but I am annoyed that the manager did not have an experienced cook to oversee the trainee's work and to gently guide them and teach them how to properly prepare steaks ordered at different temperatures. Why do I bring up management? I do not expect untrained people to be able to perform with excellence, that is not where I place blame... this the full 20%+ gratuity .
Okay, I am pulling into McDonald's to get some food, seriously, I am not just saying that for effect, I just drove away from the restaurant that I spent $49 at and an additional $10 gratuity (because I don't blame the server for her ignorance) to get a junk fast...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreIt was my first time trying the new place since it opened. Iām here to report. Iām sadly disappointed in the service they have here. My party of 3 got there at 4:30pm and then had to wait until 4:45pm to be seated at the table. We never ever got a waitress to wait on us at all. Finally one of the guys working behind the bar noticed we had been at our table a while. So he waited on us and brought us menus. So we then waited a additional 15 minutes for him to come back and take our order. We ordered two Fish and Chips and one mushroom burger. We then sat there until (5:50pm) before they served us two of the fish and chips. Being polite, we waited for the third meal to arrive before we all could start eating together. The third dish being a mushroom burger took a additional 12 minutes to get to our table. By then the first two orders of Fish and Chips were cold. When we got there at 4:30pm they were not that busy but now I understand why we had to wait 15 just to get a table. There service is way to slow to keep up for such a small place. Had we ever got a waitress maybe the service wouldāve been faster, but I really doubt so. The table next to us which had a waitress, was a table of 6 from Worland Wy who drove all the way from Worland to eat here. As we were leaving I told my guest ānever again for meā and the table next to us said yes we agree with you because they also had to wait well over a hour for their meal. They had 4 small kids and said there is no way to keep 4 kids seated at a table for over a hour waiting for food when they are hungry and restless. The food was probably OK had I been able to eat it while it was hot. Iām a local person and sure wish this place had better service so I could try them again in hopes they improve. In all we got there at 4:30pm and left there at 6:20pm all just for two Fish and Chips and one mushroom burger which took just under 2 hours. Thatās just sad all together. The only reason I leave this review is in hopes that the management will see it and learn from this and improve and take it as...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreMy husband worked Valentines day, so we went to One Eyed Buffalo last night, 2/16/25. My son ordered the chicken finger basket, my daughter ordered the macaroni & cheese & they were delivered "mostly" warm. Not completely cold, but not hot either. My husband ordered a ribeye ($35) and loaded baked potato. His steak was again luke warm at best, the potato was not hot inside and the cheese on top was not even soft (warm), let alone melted. My steak (no joke $50 for mine alone) was a filet with crab & hollandaise, a garnish of asparagus and a side of sweet potatoes was, again, luke warm at best. The crab was way over cooked, the hollandaise sauce had a skim from it being left out cooling and the sweet potatoes were beginning to get soggy. We did not even get asked about side salads or soups. I am happy to pay high prices for expensive food... if the quality matches... Last night there was no excuse for the quality. They were not busy yet since we had arrived right around 4 p.m. (staff, including our waitress could be seen standing at the register frequently, which is fine if your tables are taken care of & foods not sitting in the kitchen getting cold.) When I brought up that our talents were cold, she did offer to have it warmed up.... and it came back even colder than when it left, and when we went to pay, there was not any kind of inquiry into our meal nor apologies for the cold food. I know the manager was told because like I said, you could see them at the register. Between my steak & my hurricane drink, my part of our bill was over $60 alone. Our whole bill was around $130, and we can't even get a apologetic inquiry about our cold meal?
I'll never be back & I'll only recommend anyone order cheap menu items that are not a big deal when they're served luke warm. Seriously, if i wanted over cooked then cold food, I'd save myself $80 and...
