My last review pointed out that Aldi has joined the bigger corporate stores like Jewels and Walts, in huge price increases pretty much weekly and I am not kidding! The examples I gave then was, "Last week, a pound of Aldi's generic butter was $3.69; this week it is $4.19. Recently, a dozen large eggs was $1.97, $2.79 the next week." Today, you may not believe my latest example, but it's true SO BELIEVE IT. Last month I bought extra virgin olive oil it was $5.49 and it hurt my heart to buy it, because I still remember when it was $3.89. On Saturday, 8/24/24, it was $7.95 for 1/2 liter. UNBELIEVABLE, BUT HERE'S WHAT I CONCLUDE. Aldi is no longer trying to compete in the lower food prices market. And, here's what they do not seem to understand -- not everyone will accept the increased pricing, especially considering their largely generic products and very often less than fresh produce. I did not buy the $7.95 EVO and today I researched pricing elsewhere and discovered that I can buy a 1 liter EVO for $14.98. Let me do the math: $8 for 1/2 liter x 2 = $16 ALDI. I am going elsewhere for the first time in years to buy a 1 liter EVO for $14.98. Take that Aldi!!! Spend money elsewhere whenever practical Y'all and encourage everyone to do the same. Good luck surviving in these most treacherous times where...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI went to grab a few items for breakfast. The store was clean and well stocked. Once I got to the register.. the cashier was having a conversation with his coworker which was fine until it was my turn in line. I spoke to the cashier & The guy acted as if I was interrupting his conversation. After the transaction was completed He carried on with his conversation. But I continued to stand there. He said with an attitude āokay you can go nowā, Then finished his conversation with his coworker. I said āIām standing here because Iām waiting on the receipt and my changeā. He had a very sassy āyou actually owe me 1 cent but I let it goā I tired to give him the coin but he said ā I was saying u can go cause I got it.. anything else, itās handled.ā
I donāt know what type of day that young man was having but Iām a 34 year old woman who is a loyal customer to Aldis for generations. Never have I experienced bad customers service at a place I consider my safe space. Please allow your cashiers a day off so they can come back to work refreshed and ready to deliver proper customer service because the communication was...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI go here because I never truly have an issue getting most items. But yes it has changed they've remodeled and at first everything was delightful BUT now they have upped the prices!! Milk last week at one store was $3.29, came to another store and it was $2.49 I bought a half gallon and paid $2.49 or $2.99. I think that they have raised prices due to inflation but also because for some areas it is the only store around....which puts into the neighborhood store category. You always see people that own gas stations or neighborhood convenience stores buying a lot of milk, butter, or eggs and then reselling those items for more money. I love Aldi's but if they get any higher I may have to rethink my #1 haunt for my more pricey Love Pete's Fresh...
