Food is decent but does not outweigh terrible customer service and subpar health standards, especially during a communicable virus pandemic. Iâll bullet point my reasoning for giving this place 2 stars:
My order was placed 30 minutes before I came, waited an additional 20 minutes there before my food was in my hand. The service space is small (essentially the size of a hallway) and 2 of the 8 customers inside were without masks and conversing within 3 feet of where the food buffet is for dishing out orders. No attempt at establishing order. People were waiting outside and inside, no cue on when to move in or step out. Manager/main service person only irritatedly announced folk need to move outside and wait for their food every now and then. She was selectively apologetic for long wait times. It seemed the person helping the main service person/manager was a new hire and didnât understand everything too well. Manager openly rebuked her, shaking her head while making remarks. Felt bad for the young lady, knowing her missteps are a result of no or poor training. I got a vibe of dismissiveness and customer indifference. Ya know, the kind when you can be right in front of the counter looking into the service persons eyes and they smugly yell out âalright, whoâs next?â instead of âcan I help you?â smh
I hate to rag on a black owned place, but there are standards of customer service this place just does not meet regardless of how good the food is and who owns it. Hope they do...
Read moreMy family had been going to Soul 2 Go for years, in fact we patroned their grand opening of their original location (prior to their move a few blocks away) The quality of food has tremendously declined. The customer service was never good, just ok but now it's an atrocity! And the prices have skyrocketed. I have been receiving mediocre/poor customer service so I've only visited a few times a year. A female employee whom was loud and disrespectful tried to argue over a little complimentary condiment, and was consistently rude to everyone, from her body language to her tone of voice. 2/13/19 I attempted to place a phone order that would have totaled about $50. I placed two orders and attempted place the third along with desserts when a crude female whom yook my orders stated they were on their last pan of short ribs of beef. I explained to her that there is a 20 minute wait for the 2 fried wing dinners I ordered and if the Owner/Manager would allow to take the order over the phone. The lady kept repeating No while I spoke and informed me that it would be "done for" meaning the food would be gone by the time I got to the restaurant. I asked the person for their name and she rebuttled with why. I told her she was being crasp she then hung up in my face. I believe I might have been speaking with the owner as she has been as rude as her emoloyees/family in the past. Members of my family have long discontinued patronizing the restaurant. I...
Read moreFood is excellent but they are gonna have to get more people to work for them. The 2 ladies up front are working their butts off but since they aren't open everyday and Sunday's are always busy, you may want to add a larger staff to accommodate the rush. They don't take phone orders due to the crowd so if you order anything fried like the excellent catfish and chicken, it's an automatic 20 min wait but you stand in line for 20 mins just to order so about time you get your food the whole experience is 45-60 total which is insane. Once you get your food it's worth it but sometimes when I see a crowd I just turn away since I don't have that much time to give and I'm sure other's do the same. I even tried to order through Doordash but the canceled my order and refunded my money due to them not taking phone orders. Why even have a phone. Overall if you have the time check them out but if it's on a Sunday, be prepared to wait since they are closed...
