Went in here to look at / purchase some guns. I have been shooting for over three decades and have attended multiple safety classes and taken an NRA safety class as well. When I arrived there was a young gal behind the counter who was helpful as well as knowledgeable about the rifles they had for sale. She said she was waiting for the normal guy to return , she was great. I was looking at a Howa in 6.5 Creedmoor. When I first picked up the rifle I did a safety check of the magazine and the chamber to make a 100% sure it was clear and safe , keep in mind it has a trigger lock installed on it by Dicks staff. I also left the bolt open for added safety. I had the rifle on my shoulder pointed up where the roof meets the top of the wall at a 45 degree angle looking through the scope inspecting the mil dots and eye relief when this rude young guy walks up and says " SIR , SIR , YOU HAVE TO POINT IT UP " I looked at my rifle position and said I am pointing it up with the bolt open and it has a trigger lock on it. Keep in mind this is a single story showroom , he then said "theres a bathroom over there point it up here" as he motions toward the roof straight up. I have been shooting for longer than he is old , plus as my dad always said its not what you say but how you say it. I at this point handed her the rifle and told her to have a nice day. Wont be buying ANY weapons from Dicks if thats the attitude of the gun department staff. I would recommend they have their staff attend some shooter safty classes and be knowledgeable about firearms before speaking to experienced shooters and ex-vets. I will return to Turners Sporting goods where the staff knows...
Read moreI had a disappointing experience at this store. It all started with subpar customer service, and ended with credit card fraud.
One associate was helping a senior couple paying a $90 bill with all ones, counting the money over, and over, and over. The associate at the other register meanwhile was hanging out on the phone.
A younger guy was waiting in front of me to checkout with a pair of pants. I'm not sure if he decided to shop more or went to use the bathroom, but he put down the pants and walked away. Meanwhile I waited for another 5 minutes before that guy came back, grabbed the pants, and proceeded to stand in front of me. I guess he assumed I was saving his spot or something.
FInally, both associates were available. I walked up to the Emmanual to make my purchase. He scanned it, I paid with my credit card and went about my day. Shortly after that purchase I had several fraudulent purchases on my card. It was for fishing rods and fishing equipment. I don't fish, nor does anyone in my family. I find it highly suspect that after my purchase I had multiple fraudulent charges hit my card right after.
It was one thing to have subpar customer service as great customer service died post Gen X, but to have my card compromised was truly next level. I will...
Read more4/25/2025 I arrived in the sports footwear section at 4:32. I was unable to find a staff member to answer a question about the location of soccer cleats until 4:37. At which time there were 3 observable staff members walking in and out of the back room, with approximately 5 customers in the whole footwear section. Several of the staff members made fleeting eye contact with me as I stood near shoes waiting to try some in my size and looking to get help. Not one staff member acknowledged that they might be with me soon, and I ultimately left at 4:47 due to frustration from waiting....
