The Beacon — Attraction in Topeka

I just had a Christmas Party in the Founders Room, and let me tell you, this place is FANCY! Not in a stuffy, uncomfortable way, but in a classy, stylish kind of way. It's a different venue than any other I've seen in Topeka-- the style this brings to downtown is SO good! The Room: We were in the Founders Room. We had about 40-50 people at tables and the really nice soft lounge seating. With those numbers, we were very comfortable. The circle bar in the middle of the room was perfect for serving snacks and drinks, without having a buffet-line bottleneck or crowded queues. The whole room really sells the speakeasy-feel! Very stylish for any kind of party where you want your guests to put on their nice clothes! We appreciated the different lighting settings to set the mood for different activities, and the TV system was useful and user-friendly as well! Communication: I worked with Courtney, one of the owners of the building, on the party plans. She was always prompt at responding to emails and calls, and stayed on top of details even when I let them slide! She was onsite during the whole party to make sure everything went smoothly, but she was never interrupting or in the way. She was even generous enough to give us a whole building tour when we first went to see the space. Price: We were very impressed with the affordability of the space, and the different options we had on rooms to choose from. We were not at all constrained to a certain layout or party style because of the options on rooms at The Beacon. We opted for hors d'oeuvres and desserts in a room more suited to a cocktail party, but if we had made plans for a sit-down dinner, there was a larger room with a nearby kitchen that was cheaper to make room for a catering budget. Food: On that topic, I need to mention how much I appreciate the flexibility on food and catering options! We were not limited to a certain caterer or given unreasonable restrictions on the food we could have at our party. We got so many good comments on the venue after the party that we're already making plans for using it next year! I can't recommend...

The Beacon has to be the most beautiful venue in Topeka. From the hardwood floors, to stained glass, and the antique gold features... it's absolutely perfect. There are so many huge rooms to pick from to make your wedding day whatever you want it to be!!! I used the Theatre for my ceremony, Founders Room for cocktail hour, Dining Room for dinner, Ballroom for the dance, Library for rehearsal dinner, and both the getting ready rooms! And you can pick any of these to best suit your needs!!!

My wedding was on 4/22/23 and though I half-expected it to rain, I never was overly worried about it because the venue has SO MANY gorgeous areas for photos! All of the windows make for perfect, soft lighting.

Courtney at the Beacon, responded quickly, was professional, and kind!!! I can't recommend this team enough. The venue staff (bartenders, venue coordinators, security, and cleaning) were all great to work with!

I loved that we could choose our own caterer! It made my options that much wider to fit our needs. I was a big fan of getting to choose whether I brought in my own alcohol or used one of their packages, which were very affordable!

If you're looking for a venue in Northeast Kansas, you have to go with this one. You get the best bang for your buck in the most stunning, historic venue on this side of Kansas. Thank you to everyone at the Beacon for making my wedding day...

When I originally saw The Beacon stand at my local bridal fair it didn't look like the vendor/venue for my (now) husband and I. I actually walked past the booth and it was by chance that an acquaintance of mine at the booth next to theirs recommended I take a look and see what Courtney had to say about the venue. Boy am I happy that I did! The Beacon was the first venue we toured in our wedding planning journey and it was by far the easiest selection. Courtney was our main contact and she was always flexible to answer any questions I had (and I did have a lot!), to work through any issues with other vendors, as well as to reshow the venue as needed.

Our experience with The Beacon was by far the best we could have imagined for our big day. The venue is and will continue to be beautiful and perfect for not only weddings but for other events.
