My employer had used this restaurant for catering. It was absolutely delicious and left an impression for me. We heard about the 3rd floor skyview eating experience, so we went. We went on a weeknd afternoon to have lunch. We climbed up 3 flights of stairs and sat at the table. The window pane sat high, so it was difficult to look out the window to enjoy the views. We placed our order, and we waited. The appetizer was brought out. It was not what we ordered. My fiance food was brought out, and it was not what he ordered . The cilantro rice was absolutely horrible. It was really dry, and the cilantro tasted like it was flakes and not fresh. The chips were hard like they were overcooked. There were not enough chips for the queso. We ordered queso blanco, and it came out yellow. It was a disappointing experience. It felt as if the waitress did not listen to us at all. I used to manage restaurants, and I understand that we are human and make mistakes. It was frustrating because there were a total of 4 occupied tables in the entire restaurant, and it could have been a more intimate experience without a large crowd. My entre dish was absolutely delicious. The presentation and flavors of the tacos are what saved the review from having 1 star. It appears that the food may be a hit and miss depending on who is...
Read moreWe tried this place out for lunch today. The food was phenomenal. 5 stars for everything we ordered (chips & guacamole, double decker taco, shrimp taco, Mahi Mahi taco, and Chipotle chicken taco). The chips were magnificent and reminded us of the way grandma used to fry the Tortillas fresh. The guacamole may be my favorite in T-town. It was really fresh with a lot of red onion, which I love. The service was impeccable. They were well-staffed and we felt taken care if without being suffocated. Those are the true highlights! The down sides? We were seated on the third floor. The sky lights male the rather small area feel bright and cheerful, however, the space is cramped. The waiters had to juggle trys over our heads to get to the adjacent tables leaving me wondering if I would make it through my meal with taco stuffing on my head or shirt. The space is also very loud. The concrete floors, the chair legs scraping across them, the entire lack of soft spaces to muffle sounds made it quite difficult for us to even hear each other speak throughout our meal. We'll be back for the food, for sure....but not a place we'll likely frequent with friends where we want to have good...
Read moreI felt like the staff was angry. It was like I don’t want to be here and don’t ask me to do my job. I know what I’m doing type of attitude. It’s a Mexican restaurant and yet chips and salsa are NOT included. If you order chips as an appetizer you are limited to one refill. So we ordered chips and queso, and just enough chips to use with the queso. The tacos had barely anything in them. 2 tacos for $10 is pretty pricey, especially since they where small The burrito I ordered was a good size and it came with a side of french fries, for $17. Once again it had a minimal amount of barbacoa, and loaded with a seasoned rice. Tastes great, if I wanted a rice filled burrito with a hint of meat. Overall the restaurant was clean, staff each has their own job, and don’t dare ask if they can do something that’s not part of their job description. Will I return, probably not. To many places to spend my money on for a more relaxing and enjoyable lunch,...
