This place is something else! That used to mean that you'd be willing to burn the place down if you hadn't already wasted enough time and money. This day and age, means that it exceeds all expectations.

The food is phenomenal. Great serving sizes at a reasonable price. Lunch menus. Even have seasonal dishes so you'll never get tired. You fall in love with an item and before you know it, it's gone. That's OK here. You don't need a pity party when you trade Brad Pitt for Ryan Reynolds, or Megan Fox for Scarlett Johansson. It's like that for your mouth.

Service. Guests are quickly seated, and a server is there right away and attentive. Unlike most restaurants that somehow make you feel like you are an inconvenience, here they make you feel valued. The importance of value for dollar can not be overlooked with high inflation rates. Who told servers it's not okay to drop off a ticket off early when there's no tab and lunch hour. I had somebody drop off my ticket and then check in a little bit later to ask me for a refill. That's awesome. I may be in a hurry, I may not. You just covered both bases!

The atmosphere... Wait! Somebody thought about that. The industrial look of the place diverse seating arrangements, games and decore are on point. All the stuff you love stays the same but the atmosphere evolves in concert with the menu to keep it fresh. They even have private dining room for get together or business. I highly recommend it based on our organization's experience there. Staff did a great job making us feel like everything and everyone was there because of us.

I really hope that they are making deliberate choices in how they run this place. Change things up and make me want to come back? Have a rewards program to thank me for coming back!? No happy acciden there!!!...

I surprised my wife and 16 year old daughter by taking them somewhere they hadnt been. We walk in and it looked like an awesome legit place. The server seemed new. Not bad but not great. We ordered drinks and my daughters rootbeer came out and it was all syrup. The server lady said she would try to fix it, she came back 30 seconds later and said she couldnt fix it and so she ordered something else. Not a huge deal. The fried pickles are pickle spears which we dont like. They were good but I paid $8 for 6 little fried pickles. The server had two tables to look after and my wife waited a long time with an empty soda cup. Had to ask for a refill which isnt how it works. They could have easily just waited the table. She disappeared for our entire experience. We saw her 5 times and were there an hour. A different person served us our food which was a weird thing. Why didnt my "server" serve the food. Food was good. My girls got burgers that were tasty! My wife had the Pennant original and added bacon I got a BLT which was $8.50. And the reason I mention the price is because my wifes burger had more bacon than my BLT sandwich, there was a whopping 3/4 of a piece of bacon on my blt. Lots of lettuce though. No mayo whixh it says comes on it. At Henry T's they have half a pound of bacon. On BLTs for $8.99. We asked for mayo and they gave us something funky and only one of them. It was a terrible experience. We were planning on ordering dessert but decided after the entire thing that we will go somewhere else. The server took off the sodas price without us even asking because we waited a long time. We will never go back. I only do these reviews when stuff is REALLY bad. Didnt leave a tip. Paid my...

My Family and I go to The Pennant 1-3 times a month and have always had a great experience. Deanna our server was new at least by appearance but it was clear she did not know what she was doing. And when we asked for the manager Dalton. It was CLEAR that customer service was not his top priority. Our order was wrong and Dalton said that Deanna explained that to us which she did not and Dalton was not going to let our orders be comped. I understand being a new server and not knowing certain things but the way she went about it was absolutely ridiculous, you would think as a new server if you did not know something you would at least say something along the lines of “I’m sorry I don’t know that I am new let me get someone that can help us. But she made no effort to do anything like that. They did not offer any type of credit discount nothing. The manager Dalton was extremely rude. I have never seen him before and like I said we come here often I don’t know if it’s us sitting downstairs this time and normally we sit upstairs but due to a private party we had to sit downstairs. But the servers in the past have always gone above and beyond and have been super friendly and I’ve seen managers upstairs and they were not ever him so I don’t know if there’s a different manager for downstairs but I just want to let you know that our experience was horrible and we will not be going back and we will make sure we let everyone we know know about the issues we’ve had. And we will be contacting a higher person about this issue. We are not one to ever really complain about anything but this was absolutely ridiculous. I hope some other part of management will...

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ A Trip Over the Rainbow at The Pennant If Dorothy herself had wandered down Kansas Avenue, she might’ve clicked her heels and declared, “There’s no place like The Pennant!” To celebrate a milestone—nearly three years at work—I took my wife and five kids to this marvelous place, where the spirit of Oz has settled like golden dust. The Pennant’s Wizard of Oz pop-up, running from March 9 to April 14, has turned their upstairs into the Flying Monkey Tavern, a playful tribute to the Land of Oz. Themed drinks like the Ruby Sipper and Flying Monkey Martini sparkle with creativity, while the decor hints at twisters, yellow brick roads, and far-off Emerald dreams. For Hayden, who adores all things Oz, it was as if the Wizard himself had waved a wand to make the evening unforgettable. Just last week, we’d been enchanted by The OZ Museum in Wamego, but this was something else—alive, buzzing, and right in the heart of Topeka. We dined like munchkins at a banquet, the food every bit as delightful as the atmosphere. The staff, friendly as Glinda, made us feel right at home, and the laughter and joy swirling around the table felt like pure magic. The Pennant has conjured a spellbinding experience with their Oz-inspired transformation. Whether you’re a fan of the classic tale or just craving an adventure, this is one stop along the Yellow Brick Road you won’t want to miss. We'll be back, and who knows? Maybe next time, we’ll find ourselves dancing with the Lollipop Guild.
