Let me start by saying that what I devoured here, were without a doubt, the best tacos I've had since I ate from a street vendor in Chicago before a Descendents gig a few years back. It is my personal belief, that you'll dig it. Also, please note that I don't know these folks and just wandered in after buying emergency TP and the pharmacy next door (unrelated).
The counter folks were very nice and probably the owners. The menu was small but interesting and everything sounded good, even the Lengua (beef tongue) which I may try someday after enough tequila.
The place is small, just two tables, but you can call ahead for take-out. Price is reasonable, I paid, a well worth, $7 for two tacos.
I ordered one Carne Asada (marinated steak) and one Carnitas (braised pork). They came as just the simple protein on corn tortillas (my choice) with no topping, although you can of course ask for guacamole, sour cream, etc. I did see a review where it was noted as such, in a negative concept, but I must disagree; who better to top your food that YOU. You know how much cilantro and pickled beets you want and if you ruin it, you can't blame anyone else. On that note, there is a very small station in the corner of the restaurant that has topping items, such as noted, but also with onion, jalapeno, carrots (I think they were carrots), a variety of what looked and tasted like homemade salsas.
I could see this little station, with its steel tubs of toppings atop a lake of ice, being a little off-putting to the less adventurous connoisseur, seeming as if it's a half-baked idea, but honestly, it's function outweighs form at this point in the game, for a budding business. And with the deliverable they're offering, I'm more than willing to make room for them to evolve as they can.
OH, the food ... I actually went there twice in one day, two hours apart. I got the exact same thing both times. Why? Because the food was so flavorful and good the first time, I figured it had to be a one off, a moment of incredible marriage of spice and marinade ... a fracture in the space-time continuum, but really, the second batch was even better! Portion wise, I felt that I received justice with both the steak and the pork. Normally, I'm a steak guy with tacos but, the marinated pork was the very best I've ever had and might tip the scale for me a little bit. Those flavors in the corn tortillas, with my toppings of choice were incredible. The medium Salsa, which I wasn't sure about by visual, was also really good.
I want this place to succeed. They seem to be starting off small and somewhat bare bones, but how many fantastic places started off like that, and after those places expanded and you could no longer get a table, you pondered ... remember when it was just two tables and amazing grub; Be part of the first flock of folkers to stop here, so that someday, you can tell your great grandparents, grandchildren that you were there, when it was just a wee hole in the wall dive, but amazing.
I can't wait to go back. And that's all I have to say...

However, on a recent visit, I stumbled upon a hidden gem that has completely shifted my perception: their extraordinary burger.
Nestled among their traditional taco offerings, this burger stood out as a testament to their culinary prowess and versatility. From the first bite, I was transported to burger heaven. Read moreI stopped in with some friends on a Friday night, it was my first time here and I’d heard good things. It’s a fast casual spot so you have to order and then grab a table and wait for your food to be called. Left coast taco is a cool spot but it’s on the smaller side so it can be a little chaotic if it’s busy. There are some tables, but not a ton, so you might not be able to sit if it’s busy. It is definitely designed for smaller groups, like 5 or less, or great for if you are grabbing a drink.
There is one larger table at the entrance and we were lucky to get a hold of it when we arrived. It was very busy so trying to hold the table and order food was a little all over the place. Once food was ready they called your name but you could barely hear or understand it. It sounded like the Charlie Brown speaker. They need to get some better announcement system or give people buzzers so people can get their order more efficiently. While we waited we enjoyed a tasty round of margaritas. I ordered the birria tacos. Good sized portion, decent flavor but the meat was a little more tough than I prefer. It didn’t shred as well as it should because it could have been stewed longer. But overall not bad. We ordered another round of margaritas. This is where things got weird. My drink tasted like the first one but was about 3/4 full. My friends got drinks about 1/2 full and were glasses of triple sec. I’d maybe give this place another try, not on a weekend, and hope for more consistency and a...
