I started working out with tom 5 years ago as an attempt to lose some weight and increase my strength after an injury led me to multiple disc herniations in my lower back. Last year, I had reconstruction lumbar spine surgery, and knew there would be a long road of recovery for me. However, not only have I made a full recovery, but I am even better than I was before. Tom prepared me for back surgery so that I would have a smoother recovery, and now, through a specifically tailored workout regimen, has taken every measure imaginable to safely and successfully nurture my rehabilitation and build my strength. I am in the best shape of my life and I am STRONGER than ever before. Since day one, Tom has proven that he genuinely cares about the health and wellbeing of his clients and truly loves what he does. He is knowledgeable, motivating, and passionate about helping people realize how fitness has the ability to change their lives. I have strength trained with Tom now for 5 years and have been doing the 60 minute boot camp classes for the last 3 years, both are still apart of my regular routine and never fail to leave me feeling challenged. Additionally, as of recently Tom has implemented an open gym membership option which allows members access to the gym at their leisure. This is awesome because at any given time I can access the gym and utilize any of the equipment and more likely then not, I will be the only person in there. I love having the gym to myself, and not having to wait to use any equipment is an added bonus. Before FITE, I definitely didn’t see myself as an athlete, however this gym has completely changed my mindset because it is a place for growth! FITE is a place for EVERYONE, no matter your age, or fitness ability. Read moreI’ve been going to FITE Fitness and working with Tom as my personal trainer for many years now. When I first came to FITE, I was suffering from rather severe rheumatoid arthritis. My joints were aching and swollen, my energy and strength was low, and my weight had ballooned. I wanted to make a change and was determined to try to overcome the arthritis. I didn’t know if it was even possible but I spoke with Tom and he proceeded to work out a plan to help me get my life back. It has been a lot of hard and challenging work but with Tom always there to keep us progressing on the path, it has been truly transformative. Working with Tom, I’ve lost and kept off a significant amount of weight and increased my strength and energy. My arthritis symptoms have decreased dramatically. Even my own doctors are in shock and amazed ... it’s hard for even them to tell I even have arthritis anymore because the swelling has pretty much disappeared as has the associated pain. They told me I should keep doing what I’m doing and that I have an amazing trainer ... which I knew already! All through this Tom has made sure my exercise regiment and plan was adjusted to give the right amount of challenge without injury and taking into account my arthritis, growing the plan as I continued to improve. And now I am doing exercises I never thought I would ever be able to do ... whether it’s cardio, weights, etc. I look forward to my sessions because its certainly never boring as we are always changing things up and making sure it’s challenging. Read moreI attended my first boot camp class at F.I.T.E Fitness in February 2012 and haven’t stopped going since. The owner, Tom, is very knowledgable regarding exercising and what you should be doing versus what you should not be doing. I’ve never felt intimidated or uncomfortable while being there but rather strong and confident. The classes are intense and you ALWAYS feel like you’re getting the workout of your life. You will definitely feel every bone and muscle in your body getting a full workout. The classes change on a daily basis and the best part is these classes are universal in that they are appropriate for a beginner in the fitness world or someone who’s been working out for some time. I also really like the motivation the staff provides and they never let you slack off. Though these are classes, the staff focuses on every person individually throughout the class and will provide you with guidance/assistance/corrections on any exercises you may find difficult or that you may be doing incorrectly. Additionally, in the 2 years I’ve been attending this gym, all of the other clientele I’ve met have been nothing but nice, fun and motivating as well. We push each other to higher limits and enjoy calling each other out if one of us falls short on an exercise.
