I was denied service …
Let me start by saying Ali seems like a very sweet girl and she definitely has artistry talent. I wish her nothing but the best and am glad she is her own business owner and can make her own rules and policies which make her comfortable to do a job I’m sure she loves. That being said, I believe she has a fear of confrontation & therefore denied me service.
Future new clients please be aware of the parking situation. I was 10 mins late to my appt (originally 5 mins late) but I drove around for an additional 5 minutes trying to find a parking where I would not get towed. All parking lots said “no trespassing” & “violators will be towed” so I was very confused. She later told me those signs essentially don’t matter? & that they wouldn’t do anything to my car, but before arrival I had no knowledge of this.
When I arrive she says I’m 10 mins late so according to her policy she can only do 1 color - no design. I was obviously disappointed because I had a design in mind and asked if she could at least do 1 nail design on each hand. She refused. I said I didn’t realize 10 mins made such a difference in doing a design on a nail. She said it’s her policy and she keeps it consistent with all her clients. I said ok and placed my hands on the table at which point she said “if you don’t feel comfortable having the service done you don’t have to.” I asked if I would be charged a fee & she laughed and said yes. I said then no that’s fine I’ll do the one color. She then accused me of having an attitude and again said I don’t have to continue with the service. I explained to her that at no point did I raise my voice, go against her policy or say anything rude, mean or condescending. I asked a question and yes I’m upset that I can’t get the desired set I was hoping to get but I absolutely at no point had an attitude. She offered the option for me to leave, so I figured she would at least wave the cancellation fee since it was her idea. She again said I had a really big attitude and because of that she did not feel comfortable servicing me and told me to leave. I told her if I leave I’m not getting charged because at this point you don’t feel comfortable, I’m fine and I’m willing to do the one color. She said she wouldn’t charge me, I said thank you and left.
All this to say, I believe she got intimidated or scared that yes I was disappointed and upset, but at no point was my energy ever rude or mean and the disappointment was most definitely not directed towards her. Im a mom of 2 - a toddler and a newborn and scheduled this nail appointment a month in advanced to have my nails done for my baby’s dedication ceremony and now I wouldn’t get the look I wanted, it was also the first time I went out without my kids and had time to myself, i was really looking forward to getting pampered a bit. I work client service as well and have had people record me, yell at me, curse me out & threaten me. Believe me, I try to be extra nice and respectful to make things as easy as possible for those in the industry.
I think she’s a young girl who hasn’t quite figured out how to handle clients who are anything but excited and happy. I understand it is well within her right to service whomever she pleases but I guess a lesson for future clients, be mindful of the following lest you be disappointed: The confusing parking situation- give yourself extra time to figure it out 2- how emotionally sensitive she is - definitely don’t go there mad or with an attitude but you can’t even be slightly sad or disappointed either.
If you made it all the way to the bottom I salute you, again this isn’t to hate on Ali. I was denied service so I cannot give her a good rating. My mom got her nails done by her & they were beautiful. The only complaint my mom has was she believes she charged her an additional $10 for an unknown reason.
Regardless, I wish her nothing but the best but I do feel my voice needs to be heard lest I’m painted as...
