Walmart — Attraction in Town of Brookhaven

I am disabled with regards to mobility and some other stuff. I entered Walmart this morning needing a computer card reader. I jumped into the store power chair and off I went.

I first ran into the lady at the self checkout. I was greeted with a HUGE smile and we changed pleasantries. Something about her way is just wonderful. Turns out we share the same belief in God.

After AWILDA, I proceeded to the appropriate section for my needs. The store was very empty so I went further than I needed to and found GIL. Again, a big smile and ready to help. I have vision problems related to diabetic retinopathy. That started some years ago after being released from Brookhaven Memorial Hospital with extremely high blood pressure and extremely high blood sugar.

Gil handed me what looked like a thumb storage drive. I insisted he didn't understand me but he insisted he did. Gil and very accommodating smiling and laughing the whole time. I had to tell him in the end, that it was really me who I didn't trust. I further said, "I have a reason for not trusting myself. My track record is a mess".

I do not shop there often but when I do, it's the lowest retail price I know for that particular item. Todays shopping experience it somewhat typical of my experience there.

It is usually crowded when I go but I always get the job done. I am a happy customer and will continue to shop at this Walmart in the future.

This is one of worst store in centereach. The staff is attentive on self scan and go places. They don’t even care about the recycle machines which placed on outside of the location. All the time shopping carts are very ugly (with used paper towels) which are inside of the store. They don’t even clean the carts.

Essential items - they didn’t keep any sticker at item location which is limit of 1 or 2. For example how the Costco organized at their locations. The funniest thing was my visit, they have limit on room fresheners because it says Lysol. Room freshener can not clean surfaces. I can pick only Lysol kitchen aid or room freshener. What a service. They were attentive only at billing services. Rest of the services they don’t even care.

My suggestion is before you stop the customer make sure you did right from your side. Keep a limit sticker under the item locations. So that before customer can know, how many they should pick. Lysol is a big brand, kitchen aid, disinfectant sprays, surface sprays and so on. You can’t stop the customers it says Lysol you should pick only either one. My question is kitchen cleaner works for bathroom?

So please make sure on your side before you said anything to the customers. Please give some respect and service to the customers instead of have an arguments with them. As a customer I felt very sad how the staff was deal with me which is not really make sense.

I'm not completely thrilled. I know there are production delays and such however the shelves are constantly empty. Fries, simple thing yet every time I go there is nothing and I mean nothing on the shelves. It's frustrating. And week to week it's the same stuff not restocked. I've also noticed different Walmarts carry better brands. Centereach has scoops and free something. Commack has US Polo and Reebok. I hate to have to go all over to different Walmarts to get what I want. This Walmart used to be my favorite and best Walmart and lately they have just gone downhill.

Update. Still not thrilled. I was trying to make 2 large purchases today. An air fryer oven and a barbecue. Zero help to be found. Items were in the wrong spots on the shelves so pricing was wrong or no pricing at all. Couldn't find anyone. Ended up not buying either one. I'll go somewhere else
