I'll start by saying I have large, flat, and wide feet. I often have issues finding shoes at normal shoe stores, and often heard fleet feet has the best options and help. I was greeted at the clay location by an outfitter who was very kind and wanted to help. Took out a ton of options including inserts and seemed to really want to help. Unfortunately, no shoe in stock would fit appropriately. We then took to looking at the Dewitt location to see if they had a 14 wide (2e) in a hoka that seemed to almost fit at a normal 14. They said they'd get it transferred over in a day or two. Unfortunately, there were some issues transferring the shoes. I understood because 4th of July was coming up that weekend. The following week (Monday) I hadn't heard anything so I called again and got a hold of someone determined to help get those shoes transferred (maybe manager). This person was very helpful and very apologetic that the shoes are taking so long. I was not upset at all and completely understood and replied with things like "no worries at all, thanks for your help". The shoes still took until Friday to get transferred (over a week). Obviously they were very kind and felt bad about how long they took. I wasn't upset at all that they took a while, more was just really excited to try these shoes on (been thinking about them all week). However, if I knew this would cause so much trouble I would have just went to Dewitt to try the shoes. Friday the shoes arrived, and I was finally able to try them on, and they still don't quite feel right and are hurting the inside of my foot. I was then in a weird position where a big fuss was made (truly didn't mean to cause any issues) to get these shoes over to clay and they still didn't fit. This time in the store I didn't feel very welcomed and wasn't offered many suggestions when i asked questions and didn't know what to do or where to go next.
So unfortunately, I probably won't be revisiting fleet feet for two reasons:
Now I feel I have made a bad name for myself when I did not in fact mean to cause trouble.
They don't often carry large size (14, 14 wide etc)
However, I do appreciate all of the kind people who have helped me and we're determined to try to...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWe came here on Saturday August 30th, we were visiting from Montreal and happened to be staying in the area.
My boyfriend was shopping for a pair of supportive walking shoes. I read some reviews prior to coming that this place was specialized in running footwear so imagined it would be ideal for us. We were so pleased with the service and technology used here to assess your needs.
They have a machine that scans your feet and renders a 3D image, they are able to measure your exact size, your pressure point areas, instep, arch, etc and recommend shoes that would be a good fit for your needs. I've never seen something so detailed and precise - we do not have this type of technology in any store back home.
We were dealing with a female employee that day who was extremely helpful, went above and beyond to assist us and treated us with the most care in a retail setting l that we've possibly ever had. I unfortunately did not get her name, but she mentioned she was also a teacher. So if you happen to be reading this and know who you are - thank you again, so much!
The employee even went so far as to put the shoes on for us, tie the laces and everything. This really amazed us. Once we could not find the color we wanted, she even helped us look at other surrounding stores for more options.
We did not buy anything that day, but really appreciated the level of care and expertise - this store is really the ideal place to come get supportive shoes whether you are running or just walking on a day to day basis. They sell lots of insoles and other types of running gear that is suited for someone who wants specialized apparel.
Highly recommend Feet Fleet - just make sure you take the time to get your analysis done and try on different footwear, this will be a different experience compared to a...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreAlways had a great experience here; good shoes are an investment and the staff treats it like one whether you are fitting a new shoe or just picking up your usual brand. They stand behind their product; the one time I've had to return a shoe, they not only accepted it with no problem, but based on the issue I described, they recommended and fit me for a different shoe that helped with that issue specifically. That's what made me a return customer for years- they are dedicated to setting you up for running success no matter what level. PS- not just for running either! Another person in my family is not a runner but has foot issues and goes there for their selection of lifestyle sneakers as well. Community- minded as well.
The one star off is that sometimes wait times can be excessive; my most recent visit, I left after waiting a while then came back another day. The staff explained to me that they are sometimes understaffed, but either that happens a lot or it's just usually really busy; I've gone at multiple times a year so it's not just a season or a month. There used to be an online option to make an appointment to be seen by a fitter or make a purchase; I don't know if that's still available, but I haven't been able to find it on their website in a while. I think bringing this option back would be...
