Read moreI want to share my experience working with Egon’s on custom engagement ring, which had a strong start but a disappointing finish. Working with Tim was excellent. He truly listened to my wishes and brought in a skilled designer to make the ring a reality. Both were knowledgeable, professional, and made me feel valued throughout the design process. Unfortunately, the positive experience ended after purchase.
When we tried to insure the ring, the initial carrier requested an appraisal. We contacted Egon’s thinking they must've forgotten to include it in our paperwork as their website states, “with EVERY engagement ring purchase we provide... free appraisals". We were informed by the owner that they do not issue appraisals on lab-created diamonds. His tone was dismissive and curt. It was extremely frustrating because at no point during the sale was this policy communicated to us.
We understand that sometimes details can be missed or not explicitly discussed during busy conversations, that happens. What is not acceptable, however, is that the owner insisted his team, including his wife who was the designer, had informed us clearly, which they did not. Again, their website states, “for EVERY engagement ring purchase we provide... free appraisals,” with no disclaimer about lab stones. This is misleading and lacks transparency.
We asked the owner to recommend insurance companies that would accept the purchase receipt instead of an appraisal, but he was unable to provide any guidance or support. It felt like once they had our money, the customer service and support vanished.
I love my ring and had a wonderful experience designing it, but the owner’s dismissive attitude and lack of post-sale support left a very sour impression. If Egon’s wants to maintain trust and loyalty, they need to be upfront about their policies and provide consistent, respectful service throughout the entire customer journey.
Until their website and communication reflect the true policies and they offer better support, I cannot recommend them fully. We are now reconsidering whether to get our wedding bands there, which is a real shame given how much I enjoyed working...
Read moreHi my name is Alex and I would like to share the worst experience of customer service, quality, and decency towards a customer I have ever seen from a store in my 26 years. I went in about a month ago to build and pick out the perfect ring. When I found the one I loved I asked when it would be ready so I could have an estimate at a date since I was going on vacation with my girlfriend. The woman in the store said around the 23rd of february but didn’t give an exact date. When I called around the 25th since I had heard nothing, they said it would be ready feb 28th. After hearing nothing for 4 days, I reached out on march 4 to see what was going on, and the guy who I talked with said that he had no clue what was going on and that they had to reach out to the manufacturer to see what was happening. Eventually the manufacturer told them that the ring wouldn’t be ready until march 11. So of course in my frustration I explained to the manager of the store, John, how ridiculous of an experience it is that i’ve had to go through. Through every excuse he said whether it be that the lady who cashed me out was on vacation, to the manufacturer being closed on the weekend, he could not understand how crazy it is that I got no communication from anyone in the store to reassure me the ring was even being worked on. The 28th was a friday, and they are open friday and saturday. A call from anyone to let me know that the manufacturer was late, or that the ring was going to be coming later was all anyone had to do. And even when I explained that I wasn’t given any reassurance about how Egons made a mistake or anything. Just a monotone individual (John) who could care less that my entire idea and plan to do something for the most important person in my life got screwed because no one cared to have any communication with me, their customer. I am beyond disappointed, hurt, sad, mad every single emotion you could feel.
