Kabab Guys DeWitt — Restaurant in Town of De Witt

My fiance and I decided to give this place a try. Thank God we did. It was amazing!!! You place your order and pay ahead of time at the counter and the server will bring it to your table.

We ordered:

Mixed Mezza with a Tabouli add on. The server arrives at our table with a giant platter of Falafel, Tabouli, Hummus, Stuffed Grape Leaves, Babaghanouj, Tahini, and Homemade Pita Bread. OMG! This was fresh, authentic, clean tasting and so flavorful! The Babaghanouj & Hummus were the best we've ever had! Everything scratch made!

Burak Egg rolls (beef). Three Crispy full sized hand rolled egg rolls filled with a Spiced (not spicy hot)ground beef (clove, garlic, onion, etc.). Served with a homemade Taziki Sauce (very very good).

Mixed Grill Family Platter (Serves 4). A heaping Platter of grilled meat! Chicken & Beef Shawarma (Wonderful flavor), Ground Chicken Kabob (Well seasoned), Kefta (Beef) Kabob (Well seasoned). Garnished with Grilled Tomatoes and Onions over seasoned Basmati Rice. Served with frsh Pitas, Taziki, Tahini, Garlic Aoli Sauce(sooooooo gooood!!!)

We wanted to try the deserts but we were extremely full and short on time. Needless to say we left with a bunch of leftovers and my fiance ordered another Mixed Mezz to go for a midnight snack!!! It was really that good!

Take it from me, a retired chef of 25+ years, this is absolutely worth the visit and money! If you are looking for authentic, fresh, great tasting Middle Eastern food prepared with pride and love: you must visit this establishment!

From the bright white decor, the friendly staff (and patrons) as well as the flavorful delicious Mediterranean food—Kabab Guys Mediterranean Cuisine is a restaurant you will put on your favorite list whether you live in DeWitt/Syracuse NY or just visiting.

Not only do I have celiac disease, I am also a foodie and very picky. For me it’s not just about how great the food tastes, it’s also about the experience: meal presentation, staff friendliness, food allergy knowledge, restaurant cleanliness and ambience. Kabab Guys checks all those boxes and more—and the staff and owners were extremely accommodate and knowledgeable regarding my gluten allergy—they even made gluten-free naan for me. Yay!

Hummus is one of my favorites and I have to say Kabab Guys hummus will make your mouth water. Not only did I have their hummus, I also had the lamb, chicken and rice—all were exceptional—I can see why this restaurant has a consistent flow of patrons.

If you don’t eat chicken or lamb, no worries, they also have fish, beef and veggie plates. If you are like me and have celiac disease the falafels, fries and pita wraps are not gluten-free, however they have many other options that are.

We're always looking for new places to eat and I saw a few reviews about Kabob Guys on Facebook that were pretty favorable so our entire office decided to place an order one day last week. All of us here at work have eaten at several different Mediterranean restaurants so we were excited to add a new one to our list of lunchtime places to eat. Alas, out of 8 meals only one person was happy with what they got and those aren't very good odds. My shawarma came with french fries! Now, I'm not saying that the fries were bad but I've usually had shawarma over hummus so it just seemed out of place. I got the mixed shawarma and the beef had chunks of fat on it while the chicken was a tad dry. I did get a small cup of hummus that was liquid and I could actually drink it, if it had been any good. I've never had hummus like that before. The falafel looked normal but when I bit into it, it was brown inside. Every falafel I've had at other restaurants, the falafel was a beautiful green inside. I'm really not sure how this restaurant has received so many positive reviews here on Google or on Facebook because the food really wasn't that good.
